In sfc 1, EAW and OP there's an armour value too.  It acts more like 'hitpoints' than cargo does in said games.

I'm not positive that SFC uses a DAC, to tell the truth, but it seems likely.

Cargo may have 'hitpoints,' but they don't nessisarily need to be depleted for a ship to die, so they're not quite hitpoints.

I never heard of SFB myself before SFC, but to tell the truth, I kinda like it.

Cargo add's to the ship mass (mass affects speed and turn like adding a bigger warp does) WITHOUT adding to it's "HP"
Yes, SFC3 uses a DAC and no you cant hit "cargo spaces" like in previous SFC's

Xantim's right. While Cueball was coding BattleClinic and i was shooting bugs, i noticed that the Borg ships were very fast. Apparently the Cargo Space adds mass wthout doing anything. When Cueball added cargo space to the mass calculation, the speeds turned out the right way.

Surely the cargo space has a direct effect on the size of the bar fridge you can install...?

Yea, after i mentioned to you korah about the bioship I had a play with the cargo space values myself. Once borg armour is gone the hull strength till takes a while to work down, the only factor i could see that was different for them was the cargo space figure. But i now know that doesnt effect hp's. If anyone has an idea what it might be, id be grateful.
