The only MMO on that list worth playing is Darkfall Online

Eve Online has me hooked for now, DFO is the only one with even a small chance of taking me from Eve...

DFO looks interesting (very pretty).

I am not so big on games where your skills reflect your play; as opposed to selecting your skills when you "level up".  The former is more realistic, but it steals fun fun away from getting a little reward here and there.

I'll have to keep my eye on this one.

Another very unusual one to watch is Guild Wars.  They will have a brief open-beta period next week during E3.  It is made by ex-Blizzard employees who did BATTLE.NET and they plan on having an MMORPG with no monthly fee.  It's also not a free-form world; instead it's MMORPG in cities where you congregate, but you group goes on private-instance missions.  So it's a really different one.   Could be really cool, or could suck orc droppings, we'll see.

The problem with most MMORGs is that they are shallow level treadmills to get you to burn time and money.

There is virtually no story, no role playing, no real purpose.

You basically have a stick with a carrot out in front of you to level up to the next level and that's about it.

You run around in a sparse plastic world and whack stuff.  It's not like you are in another place.  There is no role playing.  You are not a part of anything.

If you step back and really look at it you would see what a waste it really is.

that is all Crap TC.

there are members who roleplay. just because 65% of the game wont role play.. doesn't mean the other 35% isn't Roleplaying either.
but your right, that 65% is all the FPS crowd comming over to see how many people they can kill when leveled up to Cap.
and DF will prove it. there will be almost no roleplay.. and people fighting each other just to see who's better.
all a " My clan is better than your clan" War.

and the Lore .. is the story. and there's plenty of it.. as long as your a creative guy.
most games leave alot of the story out.. So the User (player) can create his own story off the "Lore"

there's currently 3 games thats trying to break the trend of the "Treadmill level"
But when you look at it closely.. you'll see Every game is a treadmill in some form or other.

as for MMORPG's being a waste. well that depends on how you look at yourself first.

is it a waste to to play "actor" in a game where you dont have to dress up?
is it a waste, to meet other people without being in a "chat room", and playing the game side by side without the connection wait?
is it a waste if you spend $15 a month to have the same fun you could have for higher prices at your local theater?
do you have time to waste 20 hours a month in a game with no Roleplay boundries other than the computer?
for the FPS:
Do you have time to waste endlessly killings people for fun?
" my answer to that= well you spend more than 20 hours a month endlessly killing people in SFC"

Warhammer and Lineage art looked good.

Never liked the cartoonish warcraft...I got addicted to it long ago and once the addiction passed...it passed.

What is Piates of the Buring sea about...just a bunch of sailboats of one kind or another...any people?  What do you do just sail around and have ship to ship combat?  avast ye...ahhhh....

Anything on Bioware's Dragon Age?

Good show moving this over here Raniz, I still like the idea of D&D online.

I wonder how well It will play against NWN, and If It will be the next generation of D&D online.

I got into the Lineage II open beta one day before it closed.  I have to admit that the look and feel of even the newbie area was WAY better than anything I saw in DAoC --which is the most fun MMORPG I've played to date.

I had a hard time getting used to their weird navigation controls, but I assume with enough play that they would begin to feel more natural.

World of Warcraft?  What can I say other than "WOW!"
