Azel's USS Premonition WIP
« on: June 03, 2004, 04:41:11 pm »
Hi all,
I restarted the Premonition from scratch (again) and tried to make it more like Azel's concept sketch posted here.
Although the model is for Bridge Commander, I've asked DarkMatrix if he wants to convert it to SFC once done - though I should warn - its gonna be pretty heavy graphics wise as I'm aiming for 8, 9 or possibly 10K polys with 1024maps (though 512 maps will come with the file.

Anyway here's some pics............

The WIP can better be followed over at this BCU thread......

thanks,

Queball. If you want something to help your reference then I've gotten my mits on a 255,000+ poly high detailed Premonition that a member of the SciFi-Meshes forum did not so long ago. Give me a yell if you want to use it.

Well I could use the textures for it as a reference but as the model goes, Executioner (EXE) has already made a CGI model based on Azel's concept which weighs in at a whopping 700,000+ polys (for pics of it see the same thread on BCU - link in my first post) so I'm using that as a main source as well as adding my own design concepts

But yeah, send it if you can mate - it all helps!

are their any renders of the sci-fi meshes one? I wasn't aware that anyone before que and exe had modeled a prem.

The basic model is now completed with some details left to finish. While the nacelles have the same features as Azel's schematic I made them look more rounded / streamlined (still got more cuts to make to make them more rounded) and the engineering hull slighty differs in configuration - but I modeled that before I noticed the differences. I've also rounded the saucer more cuz it looked too edgey.

Anyway, here's 2 more renders for yer of the nearly completed mesh.........

Well, as you know, DM's a busy guy now that he has to sort out SFCfiles, but I'm sure he'll get to these when he can.

Funny you should say that. After discussing with one of my beta testers we decided that the Prem minus the upper pod would make an ideal design for the USS Titan.............

The model is now finished and ready for texturing.........
