I'm confused....

How do you do the prestige cheat for SFC II? I searched the forums for it and it came up with one, but it was for SFC III. I tried it anyway, but it didn't work. Is there a difference between the two versions for the cheat? I followed the instructions very carefully too! HELP!

This is how I'm saving it---

save in: Single Player
File Name: Character
Save as type: Text Documents

PLEASE HELP!!!!

i dont think the bpv point can be change in sfc2, for what i have see the total for the ship cost is base on the weapon and power the ship have, you can change the bpv but the ship cost is calculate on the weapon and warp power, if you use shipedit take 2 ship like the f-ca and make a copy of the ship on the copy chnage the weapon and power  make sure you give another name to compare so go in the game look for that ship and you will se how much it cost.

Hello I had a simmilar problem... The reason was the way I was doing the backup of the modified .gf files...
In each directory there can only be ONE of that files so you need to MOVE the backups to somewhere else and leave only
the modified ones. Seems like the executable reads ALL the .gf files including all parameters there and when it finds
some duplicates it just ignore them and turn to hardcoded defaults.

Hope that helps

No...you DON'T save it as a text document.  You open it up, modify it, and press SAVE, not Save As.  Saving it as a text document makes it character.txt (you probably have extensions disabled so you don't see them), you need it to stay as a .gf file.
