The toasting makes Quizno's better but they charge too much for their subs.

To me Subway is the MacDonalds of subs.  Not very good, but popular.

I liked Tubby's subs around the Detroit area as far as chains go.  But the best subs always seem to be from mom & pop shops and not from chains.

My all time favorite was a little pizza shop where I went to college (H&R's at Central Michigan University).  The subs were inexpensive, large --and were toasted in the pizza oven.

This place here called Hungry Howies does that. They basically make the sub using pizza dough instead of bread. They have a good steak and mushroom one too.

Funny, I work for HH now.  I used to be a manager for them, then went on to be an IT manager for a TV station, hated the hours and job, now do pizza deliveries to cover my way thru college.

Yes, it is pizza dough, but some of the stores do use other bread and offer cold, subway style subs.

I am surprised, because locally, we're the only pizzaria that still makes dough instead of ordering frozen dough like everybody else uses.

There I confessed, I DELIVER PIZZA! But make alot more than I did as IT manager! Confession feels good.

Might have a couple of bucks, cause I know it would be cold by the time I get it.
