What you get for eating that brisket yesterday, should have saved it for this weekend.

No worries. my freezer is stocked with steaks (london broil), thick pork chops, boneless chicken breasts and so forth. My funds are down due to car repairs and family matters. Payday is either tonight at midnight or tuesday. My situation is pretty good actually.

Family bar-b-que. Should be a great time. Lots of relatives coming that I haven't seen for several years.

Celebrating my birthday with the little woman this weekend too.

#1:  Hobble around trying not to bump by broken little toe.  (I've broken the same little toe for the 3rd time in two years at basically the same spot in my house... ...some people never learn...)

#2:  Try and keep a two year old entertained without spending too much time in the predicted 90 degree weather.  All while the little guy is screaming " 'side!  'side!  'side! " and pointing at the door all day long.  We've learned that even if you take him out for three hours, an hour after he gets back in it's " 'side!  'side!  'side! "

#3:  Apropos to this board; I've run out of computer games to play and I've reloaded SFC3 and am replaying the single player campaign.  Wish I could get into the World of Warcraft beta...

#4: Gotta BBQ something Monday!  Have not decided what the unfortunate animal will be.....

#5: Speaking of the two year old; he's managed to escape his crib now.  Might be the weekend to buy him a bed and put a strong baby gate on his door.

I do not think our govt. is THAT generous to pay us that early Storm, would be nice though. My bet is on the 1st which falls on Tuesday, sigh...

I'm going to movies with Vicky and maybe work on her sister's yard when it is cool and help build her rose garden. I know it sounds boring, but actually it is quite cool creating beauty out of nothing. We might also have one of Vicky's friends over for lunch or dinner at the house. Her name is Yolanda Torres and she has legal family in Denver.

I'll also be enjoying my high speed DSL that arrived today, but I dare not install, it is all in espanol, hehehehehehe. I'll let Vicky handle that project.

Happy Birthday Officer Mats!   I hope that you can send the rain down southwest to Chihuahua, I'm starting to feel like I am in Southern Cali, we really need some clouds and rain.

actualy Jack it all depends on your bank. You see the eft gets there up to four working days prior to payday. Some banks rigorously adhere to regulations and make it available to account holders exactly on the first working day of the month. Others put it in the working day before at midnight. So when we get a bank holiday it can be up to four days early. some are less predictable and do it one way one payday and the otherway the next. Fort sill national does it both ways but normally it is the early option. So that make it hard to predict. They usually screw us on the four day holidays though, so I've noticed, but pay early at other times. On top of that I do not know if this is an army payday or the first VA one. The VA told me to expectthe first pay day to be a few days late.

Hey! would you like a link to a story on  true blue colored roses that are about to come on the market? Toasty has it on his forums.

Heck yeah! The Mexicans do not have them, maybe I could import some and we could help people in need after they are sold!

Payday tomorrow would be nice as all that travelling really cost me, plus debts to Leda, but at least I was smart enough to send Vicky 600 for any expenses she might have. I still have no regrets about our adventure, I just wish we had more time to enjoy and see the area. Next time we will...

I'm surprised VA told you that, you live near one of the largest VA facilities in the nation, and they have their finance for the region there. Thank God I do not fall under El Paso VA, I'm keeping my Central Texas residence as I'm in Mexico under a visitors Visa. Central Texas VA rocks the house, that El Paso VA was a real eye opener as to how some facilities can be so nice and shiny and new but they SUCK ROYALLY SERVICEWISE!

Not to change the thread, but what was your VA housing loan limit? From what I understand Congress recently raised it 20k, which means the Feds are liable for that amount in case of trouble, not the banks. You heard anything about it? I'm sure DAV and VFW sent me some info, but it is in Austin, all I have here in Mexico is my IDs, VA health records, and my VFW and DAV membership cards, bank card, etc...

Any info on that raise would be appreciated as there is a vet on the forums that might be able to refinance on better terms.

Who is running the show on the blue roses? I do not care if I have to pay international freight. I need some of those ASAP!

You Brits know anything about this and if it is available anywhere yet?

I believe the story said it was probably a few years off. They discovered how to do it and patented it. They are tryingto sell it to horticulturists who will then have to apply it and grew a supply.

Heck, I'll grow some for them. I need to find out where those people work and ask if I can help out in another country and another climate. That thing is going to be a cash cow!

I'll take pics of my garden (it's almost done), I got reds, reds with white interiors, yellows, yellows with red borders, pink, etc... But NOBODY in Mexico has blue roses!

Anyways K, I apologize for stepping on your thread, we kind of got sidetracked. Did you ever contact Debbie Johnson in Austin? Her husband is a bigwig manager for a trucking firm. PM me with your e-mail and I'll e-mail her to contact you if you like. Beats sitting around, right?
