To make this into a GOOD film would be very difficult. I loved the book and wish them well but I would bet I would be in for a dissapointment. I like the cast choices but I think Major Anderson needs to be male to stay in keeping with the book. Cast the girl from Harry Potter as Petra.

News and Rumors:

April 28, 2004: We just got another email from Dark Cloak with more speculation of the Ender's Game casting, no word on any confirmations, just rumors for now: "Ender: Jake Llyod, Haley Joel Osment (people's choice), Mazar Rackham: Will Smith or Sean Connery, Graff: Tom Berenger, Major Anderson: Rosie O'Donnell, Janeane Garofalo or Angeline Jolie." We'll keep on eye on this.

April 15, 2004: Dark Cloak sends in this casting rumor: "They dont really have a very big cast for Enders game yet. In fact, the only one on the list was Jake Lloyd, whom I think is being casted as Ender Wiggin." No word or confirmations about this, we'll keep you posted.

February 21, 2004: Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty (X-Men 2) will adapt the Orson Scott Card books Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow for Wolfgang Petersen to direct.

The Hugo Award-winning young adult fantasy series begins on Earth after an alien attack. Gifted children are recruited for war, with a prodigy leading the assault against aliens.

The kids they've listed for the characters are too old.  If memory serves, none of them were over the age of 12 or so.

My wife just picked up signed first editions of Enders Shadow and Shadow of the Hegemon for me

I liked those two...didn't really like the book after them though...Shadow Puppets just seemed to be missing something.

Doesn't matter.

Logan's Run was supposed to be all teenagers --you died at age 21.  For the movie they made them adults and you died at 30.

What they will do is go the "Starship Troopers" route and put teenie bopper heartthrobs in it.  Mark my words.  Wait until the casting is revealed then check back to this message.
