looking for SFC versions of tempest and chimera2
« on: May 22, 2004, 09:05:27 pm »
I got the  models but they are max 4 and I can't use them. I was told to look on SFU but they are not there, or have been renamed so  a  search for tempest, chimera or Smiley does not yield any results. Does anyone know where they're at?

Thought you hosted the Tempest for him, I have it for SFC3 that I thought I got from your site. The other one I never saw released.

I've got the SFC2 version of the tempest. I'll email it to ya. I'm not sure what the Chimera looks like.

ok, yur right there was a tempest in mod format around here. However the chimera 2 (which is an advanced tng destroyer that is built like a miranda) is defenetly a max 4 file.

If you have the chimera 2 as a Max4 file what is the problem you can always export it.

Starforce. The Chimera you have isn't my one by any chance is it?? If it is then Smiley sorted the textures for it and I think he may have been converting it to SFC format (I may be wrong so don't take that as read).

I was dumped by the only one I ever have and ever will love, so I haven't really been in the mood to be modelling much lately - mainly because I shouldn't have spent so much time in front of the comuter in the first place (a lesson for us all, lol) I might still have the Chimera on my other computer, which is completely trashed and needs a new mobo atm.

Thanks - I guess things wouldn't be quite so bad but I failed uni, got really depressed, now I am even more depressed. My lease expires at the end of july, I only have a crappy part time job and my parents have just sold the family home - so i don't have anywhere to go really. I need a career - it's my dream to be a game modeller but I don't have the necessary skills or qualifications. Life sucks.

Leases come and go that is not a problem, it some times is nice to get a change of scenery, and a new place usually helps to create a new attitude, so look at that as a way to get a new start. Finding a job can be a hassle but really depends on where you live, and how many skilled poeple you have to contented with. About 12 years ago My parents sold the family home as well just as I was finishing university as well. I also had a part time job and found a oportunity 8 days after I came back to CA. Found a apartment in a bad part of town and took the first job with out realizing what I was doing. It would be steady pay and gave me a company car which I needed as mine was on its last leg, which is why I took it as well as starting right away (needed the money badly). It turned out to be a job in Genetic Screening that I have been doing for 10 years now, and has been my good fortune to stumble on well in miserable shape. Things have a way of working out, but sometimes it is these shake ups that force us to do them, and in my case blindly.

As for the game modeller...
It can be done but you really have to produce allot of work and in many games to get noticed. You do quality work so that is not the issue, but you don't live in a country with a gaming industry. So you have to find a way to support yourself as you work towards that goal, not easy, very time consuming but possible. Look at what you want and talk to ppl in the industry Talk to P81 about a way to go about it he did exactly what you want to do. Most of all don't give up the fight, or you will regret that even more than what has happened now.
