Maybe this will kill all the B&B "Temporal Cold War" and random time-travil plot devices.

Sorry, As good as the last few episodes have been (caught most of them) the whole series lost me a long time age with the way-to-prolific use of time-travel-dependant plot lines and numerous plot holes large enough for Mid-West Grain Trains to pass through sideways. (How did Archer get awaythe other week?)

Anyway, till they get rid of B&B, they need to let Trek rest.

It took 15 years and a lot of fan work to get Trek into fighting trim for the TMP era. TNG started the downhill slide. Let the Trek franchise take a breather and allow some new minds time to get some fresh ideas.

Quote:

Yes, you can breathe easy now: Enterprise has been officially renewed.

Damn it!

Quote:

UPN today confirmed Star Trek: Enterprise will be back for a fourth season, but no longer in its familiar Wednesday timeslot.

With "Angel" gone now why don't they just show ENT an hour later it'd have a better chance there than any other possible time

Quote:

Instead, the show will air on Friday at 9:00pm,

Bad move

Quote:

preceded at 8:00pm by a rerun of reality hit America's Next Top Model.

Are they trying to kill ENT quicker? Scheduling it right after a gay reality show, a rerun of said gay reality show to be more accurate

Quote:

UPN promised that next season Enterprise will be "more action packed with spectacular special effects,"

SFX alone doesn't a good show make

Quote:

and will advance storylines such as T'Pol's relationship with Tucker,

Boring

Quote:

and "mysterious twists in the familiar timeline."

So their going to F*** things up even more?

Quote:

The move to Friday means Enterprise will no longer air opposite the WB's Smallville,

But now they can move ENT an hour later and be the opposite of some crappy show that's going to fill the gap caused by the Cancellation of "Angel". But instead the move ENT to a slaughterhouse

Quote:

and will be the only network show in its timeslot targeting the science-fiction audience. Instead, Enterprise's broadcast competition will consist of established dramas such as NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent and JAG, newcomer The Jury on Fox, and comedy blocks on ABC and the WB. Enterprise may also get competition from the cable-based Sci-Fi Channel, which airs original programming on Friday,

So UPN's hope is that Sci/Fi fans watch only Sci/Fi?

God that's stupid logic

Quote:

but only a minority of American viewers are able to watch this channel.

How many people have cable or satlite now a days?

I live below the US poverty level and I have cable

Quote:

In between, the network has planned the reality show The Missy Elliott Project, in which thirteen aspiring performers compete to become the next big hip-hop star.

So their ripping off the gay reality show "American Idol"

Let's hope UPN doesn't invest too much in reality TV or that network is going to go down hard when the fad ends

Im curious of anyone read this...this was at the bottom of the TrekToday article about Enterprise, via a link...

STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE (Friday, 9:00-10:00 PM), the latest in the "Star Trek" franchise, is now entering its fourth season. A prequel to the original "Star Trek" series, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE takes place during the early pioneering days of deep space exploration when interstellar travel is in its infancy and 100 years before Capt. James T. Kirk takes the helm of the famous starship. As the season opened, a mysterious and deadly race of aliens called the Xindi had attacked Earth, killing millions of people. Having discovered that their next planned attack will completely destroy Earth, Capt. Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) and the crew set out on a gripping new mission to track down and put an end to these enemy aliens. With the fate of the planet in their hands, the crew faced strange new life forms, dangerous unexplored regions of space and difficult moral questions. In addition to being more action packed with spectacular special effects, this new season will take STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE into further uncharted territory, while advancing last season's critically acclaimed storylines, including Vulcan Sub Commander T'Pol's (Jolene Blalock) blossoming relationship with Chief Engineer Charles "Trip" Tucker III (Connor Trinneer) and mysterious twists in the familiar timeline.

I mentioned it in one of the other threads, but I will say it again.

UPN did this to kill the show, the same way NBC did in TOS, a move to fridays that they know is death.

Reality shows are a fading fad, not the wave of the future, as usual, UPN is trying to cash in on the big ideas of the past.

They put the show up against two rating powerhouses, and the only original Sci-fi that the sci-fi channel shows, and they expect a ratings improvement? They are either morons or trying to end the show without having to face another fan blitz, so they can claim horrible ratings killed it, there is no third possibility.

Trek will NEVER be good until it escapes those pea-brains at UPN.

I think more women would do this show a lot of good. When you consider all the past Star Trek shows there were more women even in TOS and they looked good T'Pol and Hoshi just don't do it.When everybody was spoiled by TNG,DS9 and Voyager look at the women in those shows.I wouldn't put in the Friday 9pm time slot Wednesdays at 10 sounds better considering Westwing is on at 9pm aswell as Angel. These are all in Pacific times my a friend of mine will be happy. There are people that tape these show so that might have something to do with the ratings.

Dude... Nicole Kidman dancing naked on the bridge couldn't save Enterprise. (Though it would encourage me to tune in till the dancing stopped.) The only way to save Trek as a franchise is to allow Berman and Barga to quietly slip off into the night and make good their escape, then lynch them as they cross into Mexico trying to hide from all the die-hard Trek fans as the work on their new sci-fi series which will be called "All Time Travel, All the Time."

Well now, SciFi doesn't have a stellar record of handling good shows.  How many people were pleased to see Farscape replaced with Tremors?  I rather liked Sliders, until it moved to SciFi and got stupid.  They've done well with Stargate, but the little bit I've seen of the new spin-off doesn't look encouraging.  And I'm sorry, call me a sentimental purist if you want, but I found the new Battle Star Galactica pretty awful.  Even judged on it's own merits without comparison to the original, it was lame at best.  I don't really trust SciFi more than any other network.

And didn't I read that WB is producing a new Dark Shadows to replace Angel?  If they think that's a good idea, the UPN folks probably expect it to be a huge hit that they can't possibly compete with.

Good thing Farscape is returning heh

I used to be a massive fan of the program when it was shown in the UK and was really sad that it had been cancelled.

But due to some massive campaiging by some people in particular www.savefarscape.com  the show is going to return in the form of a 4 hour mini-series  that will address the plots storylines etc from that were left open by the series finale.

more details can be found at the offical site also http://www.farscape.com/.

I hope the mini series does well gets good reviews, tv ratings etc as the actors/actresses seem  to want to do more series, possible movies etc.

Yeah...I had heard about the mini-series and am looking forward to it when it gets aired.  I'm glad the "final" episode of the series wasn't the last word because it was rather unsatisfying, to say the least.

I'd be surprised if it ever got resurrected as a regularly produced series, but a mini-series ehere and there or even a movie would be cool, though I doubt the movie would do very well.  I'd imagine Farscape's fanbase is even smaller than Trek's dwindling fanbase.

I hope the mini series does well gets good reviews, tv ratings etc as the actors/actresses seem  to want to do more series, possible movies etc.

You all could of done what I end up doing for almost all the episod of enterprise.  I had to download them off the net due to the fact I either had work or school interfer with it shown on TV.  inveratly I got most of the episods a Day earily.  I happen to really like it.  I figure in the end most stuff work out just fine

Frankly, Friday is now totally bereft of of anything I watch with the passing of Farscape.  I look forward to having a show on that night again and the lessening of my schedule load on Wednesdays...heheh.

Good thing Farscape is returning heh

I used to be a massive fan of the program when it was shown in the UK and was really sad that it had been cancelled.
