Topic: why no new Kteremny???

I still love and use the old Kteremny at the staryards but always wondered why this  ship was never remade?It's a great ship and at some point should be redone to make it consistant with most of the other stuff thats in common use in EAW/Op.

Good question! Cleeve's is a classic and nearly identical to the diagram at www.shipschematics.net. It would be hard to top that, I think its a GREAT model myself.

I do believe this ship was designed by Todd Guenther, the author of The Ships of The Starfleet-Akyazi Class Perimeter Action Ships...

 I liken this to the challenge P81 must have had redoing his Akyazi (Akula subclass) Perimeter Action ship. I prefer the original Akyazi (Akula Subclass AND the Archangel varient HDW) over the latest higher poly version that doesn't have the saucer notch wide enough...

I'm not quite sure if a texture redo would solve all of it's problems but it would be a place to start.Please don't get me wrong I think Cleeve did a great job with the ship but I just feel it's just a bit dated and "blocky" compaired to some of the other Klinks I have,even some that are 2 years old.I'm still just a little suprised that noone has redone it ther're are about 20 D7's out there but just the one Kteremny.oh well I guess I shouldn't really complain as I'm not able to do it my self.

i personally don't like the K'teremny design so much but Cleeves mesh is realy to blocky and needs to be remade and i will do that sooner or later

ok i started to make anew mesh for it but even if the mesh is ready in the next days it could took ages till its ready to go into SFC because texture making is something i don't realy like to do (i realy hate it because it takes so much time and i never realy like the finished texture)

Please don't tease us with the K' teremny like you are doing with the Romulan V-11 and V-20 you haven't released for SFC yet, LOL. As far as textures go, what's wrong with Cleeve's textures?

You know... I have an idea on how to do a decent retexture on Cleeve's K'terremy. There is a texture set I have in mind that should not be hard to apply to it and I think it would update that ship nicely.

If it works out as well as I think it will, I'll post the results here.

It did not work as well as I had hoped it as it is a little beyond me to get the textures to match properly. But should anyone wish to have this version it can be had here...

There are technical difficulties with getting the image to appear in this frame. But the website costs me nada so I have little reason to complain.

the new mesh is done only the texture for the main hull has to be finished  and some parts of the texture for the "bridge module" (that thing with the front torp-launcher)

That would make an awesome Gorn texture...as it has a very Alligator look to it
But if you popped on a bar/plate going through a row of them.... that would be more klingonesq
But i really like that texture for a Gorn ship...like a TMP version of the SFB version

i agree with Azel it does look a bit too gorn like but it is coming on and is looking good try making the plates a red colour that will also make it more klingon as klingons see browns, greens and reds way better than we do (diffrent end of the light scale to us)
which is why we dont see white and yellow klingon ships flying around

Actually if they see more red than us which is at the low-end of the visible light spectrum then they would see yellow and white just fine but they would be unable to see violet or indigo which are at the high frequency end of the visible light spectrum - just being a bit anal-retentive over that but I get easily bugged.

I agree it don't look too Klingon, I'd suggest making longer kinda diamond shaped panels - the K'T'inga is covered in 'em and they seem to be a common feature in many fan ships  particularly FASA.

i see your point but it wouldnt really draw a klingons eye using whites and yellows because they are klingon and they probaly see white and yellow as femanine

well i have to say I didn't think a retex would make as much of a difference but i have to admit that Rouge's is top notch.And Terra your ship is comming out great.I am one happy camper today.Thanks guys
