My younger brother raved about "Dragon Ball Z" the last time he came to visit and made me sit down and watch it with him.

I could stand it for perhaps five minutes before I had to change the channel (against his protest).

It must be one of those "either you get it, or you don't get it" sort of things.  I don't get it.

Dragon Ball Z seemed like a soap opera to me.  You could not watch it for two months and they were still in the middle of the same battle!

I loved the Dragonball Z series.

I hated what I saw of the GT series.

Never saw the original series.

Alot of the people I talk to about it won't even give it a chance because its a 'cartoon'.  Those same people would watch the simpsons every night though

Agreed.  I was once forced to watch a Dragon Ball Z video.

It was HORRIBLE.  Worst thing I ever watched.

Basicly, the main character (guess his name is Goku or something) discovered he was an alien from another planet, then his brother from another planet comes to conquer Earth, then he and this weird green guy team up to kill his brother, and his son has a tail...then this Goku gets killed, finds himself in heaven or something, goes running along a long wall shaped like a dragon to go talk to someone to convince him to send him back...
I couldn't bear to watch any further :P

Weird.

I *hate* that show.  And I know quite a few people that, if I tell them that, they go nuts, calling it the best cartoon ever.

All Dragon Ball Z tapes should be burned...

I do recall Lisa on the Simpsons watching a Japaneese anime and being utterly baffled and confused by what she was seeing...

She mostly watches Itchy and Scratchy, she was probably confused that the main characters hadn't been stuffed with several pounds of TNT within 30 seconds.

Watch the subtitled, Japanese version. The American voices are very grating against the nerves.

Oh, sure.  I'm sure the version I can't understand is much, much better

That is exactly why I hate DB Z so much. They waste time and keep doing the same things for ever.

If you hated the cartoon, try to watch the movie. I mean there is a japanese or chineese movie with real actors that it is a crime against humanity......I couldīt stand it not even 5 minutes.....

Our Lt... a grown man of 25 years, mind you, was addicted to the stuff. He was also too cheap to buy his own TV to watch it on, so he would use the one in your room. I would just insert my trusty Army Issue earplugs and get lost in a good book.

I tried to watch it one time... but you guys are all over it. It was like trying to watch a soap opera, nobody died and they would fight the same villan for 8 hours on a stretch while alternating between a crazy broad who screamed a lot and a perverted old man named, I am told, Turtle.

They...gasp...made a movieof it?

And humanity wasn't wiped out because of it?

Hopefully no one ever saw it.  It would have been instant death.  Even worse than the Pikachu-seizure incident.
