The Cyclic Universe revisited.
« on: May 19, 2004, 01:58:25 pm »
I have one of StormBringers magazines here at my Place, and It deals with theoritical concepts such as Pre-Big Bang. Having Promised him to post a report on the article, I did some further looking around, and Found this Very Informative site Dealing with PAUL STEINHARDT , one of the Newest believers in the Cyclic Universe.

I'll Get back to The article in Question Later Jerry, But  Ithought you might get a kick out of this.

LOL, there's alot to digist there also. That's why I went to the We to look some stuff up. It did get me thinking about the Work In tachyon theory a few years ago, Esp. they not having any real mass, and C bing Incridebly slow to the particles. Makes one wonder if the Narrowing universe (Pre-Big bang) was made of these and similiar particles.

The problem with tachyons as far as I can remember is that although they work within the framework of physical laws there is no process that specifically calls for them nor any way that I know of to find them. Hence they are neat but essentially meaningless unless I've missed some research or article somewhere which is entirely possible.

Man It's been years since I read the article back in College, But I believe that Sudarshan at Texas U. Was Proposing a means of looking for them through there Decay. This is from Selective memory though, and I'll have to do some digging around to make sure.

Well if you remember or find something let me know. There are other theoretical items that fill the tachyon bill too such as retarded and advanced waves. tunneling soliton waves and so forth.
