Also, head over to pcworld.com, in the d/l section they have a utility called Ultimate Boot Disc. It has diagnostic's and some fixes with it.

Sorry to here this. I didn't read all posts here. Did anyone mention that there was a virus out that would start stop and restart computers. JUst a thought. Hopefully with some luck, The data on your hardrive is still intact and you maybe can transfer it later.
