Upgraded the other day from 1.66 to 1.7c i notived toady that under materials there used to be to tabs for materials ie the texture and the lightmap, now its just the texture, now is that a bug? or did he forget to put that second tab in or did it get moved?

The plug ins for milkshape for SFC, and BC are for the 1.6.6 version and do not work with the 1.7.0 version.

I have been using version 1.7.0 with the plug-ins and have had no trouble. Both tabs appear to be present and lightmaps are working in-game(OP).  I was not aware of any compatibility issues.

I did what he did and upgraded it and I hadthe exact same thing happen. This was of coasrse after a reinstall.

I also orginally before had it the same way as you do now but it was not perfect, usually I would have problems converting on type of file to another like a BC to a mod file. I don't have that problem anymore since I returned to 1.6.6

I highly recommend you stick with MS 1.6.6 for now.  I talked with a buddy of mine a few weeks ago who is a programmer, and I ran into these very same problems you discribe.  He told me for now, just stick with MS 1.6.6 because the newer versions where running into problems with "Managed" source code from the DirectX 9.0b files that Windows uses.

i recommmand that you download and install version 1.7.0 and not that stupid 1.7.0c patch because i had the same Problems wiTH the patch but before i had running the 1.7.0 and had no problems now i delted the 1.7.0c version and reinstalled the 1.7.0 and Milkshape is running again how it should have now

I use 1.6.3 still since I dont like all those blue balls that represent hard points. Too hard too see the mesh.
There ia a work around for this issue, but it involves a lot of duct tape

Just go to the "joints" tab and uncheck "show skeleton"........turns off viewing hardpoints.

Put 1.7 back on computer, worked till i installed the sfc plugin, then it crashes when i run it, tryed the other dll, not luck. Runs if i put the 1.7c patch, but then i cant see the button  for the light maps. So now have 1.66a back up and running.

Lest now i can work on the models. thanks all for the help.
