Federation war destroyers

This is a side project I have been working on for a couple of weeks. At the time I adopted this model from Fleetdock13's phase 2 pack there were practicly no Fed TMP DW's or HDW's one could use. The final version is now offered. It's about as good as I can do with my highly limited skills but I rather like how it came out. There are two models in the file with textures for splitting them into two seperate models.

Thanks to FireSoul who gave it the additional LOD's and brk_mod. And Thanks to Atheorhaven who helped with a missing illumination texture.

beautifully done mate
Amazing Job

in the front of the saucer...Is that the infamous "WAD" Deflector...or is it
some sort of new sensor/ECM package??
Looks real cool though

I thank you. And yes it is supposed to represent a  Wide  Angle  Deflector  Emiter. I think that is the acronym. Seemed only fair for having deprived it of its deflector dish. For what it is worth... these look better when played as opposed to model viewer. Moonraker's textures are much underated, IMHO.

Very nice work, i think they look better then the original Phase 2 models on Ghosts site!

I also use a "WAD" system on my ships too.  Never could understand why many TMP ships (ex. Mirandas) never had a Deflector dish.  Seems such an important device too go too warp with.

Thank you. I put an absurd amount of time into retexturing this set. When I discovered that there were two versions of it, it seemed worthwhile to see what could be done. Fed war destroyers that work with a TMP model set are pretty rare and I thought that at least it might provoke someone to model a proper FDW. Even so I like playing these and there is a certain value added from having reworked them myself. When FireSoul added the LOD feature it pretty much sealed the deal.

As far as the "WAD" system goes... it's an elegant solution to the awkward hanging deflector dish. I saw it on Atrahasis's Siva destroyer and I intend to use it whenever it seems appropriate to do so. Now that I have figured out how to post a retexture job like this I have a few others that I intend to make available when I get them finished. SFC has been a part time obsession for me and, for a change, I would like to make a small contribution even if it is just a few modest retextures like this. Hopefuly useful stuff that can be used to help diversify ones model set.

I agree aswell on the WAD system.  I copied my design ideas from Altras Siva Destroyer because like you said, I never did like the TOS/SFB ships "hanging" deflector dish design.  That is why all my SFB designs will have a WAD system or integrated, iluminated Deflector dishes.  Just seems too make beter sense.

Well... I'm going to bump this one once. For those that might have been busy lately and remember wanting playable Federation DW/HDW models ...
