Geez, I would have never thought it was so complicated. I am not much on this router and port stuff.

I am able to get into the menu to configure the filters, what is the next step?

Don't rush into anything then. Start by reading the file network_readme.rtf in the following location:

C:\Program Files\Activision\Sfc3\Docs\Help

While there is information in that help document which is router specific, you may find that it (and the manual) tells you everything you need to know to open the ports on your router.

And you can still have some minor issues once they open the ports but they can be resolved too. Just let the dynaverse login go through all it's count-downs before you panic.

Ok I think I will call my ISP before I make any changes, especially since I don't know what type of router is being used. So basically I need to open ports 6073, 2302, and 2303, or have them opened for me right? This stuff is way out of my league. Are there any specific questions or requests I should make of my ISP?

Well, the M series doesn't have the router and I'm not at all familar with how the filtering works. This may be able to be resolved simply by your ISP.

Sweet, I am able to log on to the dynaverse. Thank you guys so much for your help.

I only noticed three servers up, am I using the wrong verison (I have 1.01 Beta 2 Build (500)), or is that all there is?. I also have Orion Pirates, are there any new patches for that as well?

Cool, glad to hear you got on the Dynaverse!

Not sure what's happening with SFC3 but there's at least 3 OP servers up at the moment - RDSL being the main one everyone's playing on at the moment and there's a cool General War Part 2 server coming up (Hydran front) and Chris Jones has a test server up for his improved TNG mod which ought to be pretty cool... lots of good stuff happening (my two servers and webmaps of course too!)

You'll need to open more ports for EAW/OP D2 play (2300-2400 and 47624 at a minimum).
Current OP patch: SFC:Orion Pirates Patch 2.5.5.2 Available Now

I think there is a newer build of SFC3 than what you have on the go (531 is it?)...
