I'd love to see a pre-TOS show, but with good writers.  I love watching the one or two episodes of TOS with the "old" uniforms and the different bridge tech, and wonder what must have happened just before TOS.  Better writers (with a better sense of history, and not hung up on TNG mores) could do a great story in pre-TOS.

well a pre tos when kirk was a enseigne, that would be cool, also the enterprise-B, whe don't know what appent to it, we know the enteprise -c was destroyed defending a klingon outpost and the enteprise -d was destroye during startek generation, so the life story of the enterprise-b, what mission did hse go and what battle did she fought and agains who?, here a new carry taught: the return of captain kirk, since he's already dead he wont have to fear loosing a battle agains klingon , unless Q bring him back to life O.O
