Some of you may know that I am moving to a new place that I took possession of on April 1st. However, the move will result in my losing the DSL that I currently have. It can't be moved.
( Make story short. I have a grandfathered hardwired DSL which predates the PPPoE system. It's not sharing the phoneline, but is actually on its own copper. It's cheap (70$/month CDN), unlimited, full server allowed as long as non-commercial, static IP. )
I am in luck. I have just signed up with an ISP after doing a considerate amount of research, searching and asking questions.
I am getting:
PPPoE (no rewiring to be done)
64.95$ for 3000/640 kbits/sec bandwith
No caps, unlimited transfers.
Servers are allowed.
10$ more for a Static IP.
Total: 80.20$ CDN.
Plan of action:
I'm going to set up a small Linux server there, make it work with PPPoE, set up the website(s), move the DNS entries for klingon.stasis.ca, and make this painlessly smooth for you all. OP+ and my other downloads should not go offline at any time with this plan of action.
