http://www.erikbethke.com/ Save three lives for $5
It turns out that thousands of children and adults die of malaria every year in Cambodia due to a simple lack of a chemically treated mosquito net that costs $5 and fits three people.
The contributions are tax deductible, and 100% of the money donated is used to buy nets where the publisher of the Cambodia Daily, Bernard Krisher takes on the overhead expenses. So far about $100k has been raised to buy these nets, meaning that about up to 60,000 Cambodians have avoided dying of malaria due to these donations. I simply cannot find another cause that has such an impact for the dollar.
I think it would be cool, that in addition to measuring our self-worth in terms of the salary we make, or the cars we own, but start to brag about how many lives we have saved or improved that while it might be distasteful to some, it would in general drive awareness of giving - and hey it is just plain a good thing to do.
If you happen to feel moved to donate money to Save three lives through having read about it here on my site, please drop me an email, I would like to know if I made a difference. Thank you.

this is from Erik's site, and I thank we can all spare at least $5.00 to help the charity out. One thing that I feel we all have discovered is that we stand together, and are always willing to help out someone in need. If nothing else, Just think about the spare change we get everyday from our purchaces at the store or whatever.
we can save this up for a month, and donate that to the Malaria cause, and get those People some Net's.
