Hey Kreeargh, good to see yah.  Nice model too.  I'm not a SW fan when it comes to my SFC, but I just might make an exception for this one.  Nice job,

CK

P.S.  I like Latinas...
....And apparently Asian ladies as well...

That will really look good in this:
http://forums.taldren.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=310640&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

I WANT IT!  I already have Naboo fighters and the Jedi Cruiser and Naboo bombers (from the Assault on Naboo game or whatever).  This will make a fine addition.

Can I use it in the Sci-fi Bashfest mod?

It's rare seeing you Praxis.  You should e-mail me or MSN me, we should get together, you should know how much I've changed.

I liked Episode 1, and I like this model.  Good work.

This is a pleasant surprise! Didn't think I'd be seeing one of these in SFC anytime soon. But it's nice to see.

Well, I was gone for awhile, I recently returned about a month ago, maybe less.

Check my Sci-fi Bashfest posts, I've resumed work

Great job!! Makes me want to build that Republic Cruiser again (lost it when hdd died), I was almost finished with it. As for the silver, if you find out, post a link or tut for the rest of us...would be good for chrome on a hotrod too.

Very nice ship!!!   As far as getting silver on a bmp. I have had luck using a laquer plug-in in PSP 7. Though it takes a bit of experimenting.  Though I got  a bmp to look metallic, I found that once the ship was in game, most of the metallic look was gone, unless the light hits in just so. In SFc3  you might try turning up the specularity in the .gf file. This is what makes a ship look "shiny"

Yay!  Now I can get rid of that awful, nasty kitbash I had.  Great work.  Now all I need is a nice Republic cruiser to replace that hideous thing I made.

Argh, after I register on another board because I am not yet permitted to view the link you provided.

Do you have a mirror or another place to get it from, I am not going to registry at every site just to get a model.

Captain Ron, you are already registered on our forum.

If I remember correctly, Kreeargh said the model was over 5,000 polys and is available now on our forum. The link to it is available through Kreeargh's web site and in my sig, all you need to do is register.

The reason we are releasing stuff on our forum is to get people to see what we're working on and to get an idea of what people are wanting. We're also trying to see if continuing with our mod and the 200-300 new models being created, are going to be worth the hassle. Other than maybe 5 active posters out of 17 registered, nobody seems to care about what we do. Currently there are 25 new Klingons and most are FASA designs. We have 30 Feds made and a couple more to go, again quite a few FASA designs. Roms are being started on by Scorpion and a lot of those are going to be FASA as well. Unknown Warrior has created a bunch of new Pirate and Lyran ships. There are pictures posted of some of this stuff and we'd really appreciate some feedback about our efforts. We'd also appreciate any help that can be given so that this can get done soon. I started on this almost a year ago and almost all of the people I asked that said they would help have done nothing, or in some cases I wasn't even given a response to my plea.

Feel free to flame us for doing things this way, but right now this is something we're needing to do, so that we can make some decisions.

Thanks,
RAGE

I remember a couple years ago, anything over 2000 polies in SFC2 was considered too laggy for the *average* player if it was being included in a general public mod.

With the more powerful graphics cards these days, what should the limit be for a ship to be included in a mod and not as an extra?  Would most people be able to fly a 5000 poly ship?

I have a lot of different models in the 3000 - 5000 poly range and play on the dyna with no problem. I use a laptop and they rarely effect anything, so a real computer shouldn't have a problem. I'd say up to around 6000 or so should be ok.  If I had a real computer I doubt I'd notice anything.

Though it depends what kind of laptop it is.  It's not an Alienware or something that's gonna whup my desktop, is it?

TY!

It's nothing fancy......a HP Pavillion ze1110 around 3 years old. It's supposed to be a 1gig processor (windows sometimes reads it as 500  ) and 128 megs of ram that is shared with the piece of crap built in video.

Well if *that* can handle 5000 polies, almost anything can :P

Kreeargh...Unfortunately, I can't seem to download the BB.  Tells me that I'm not allowed to.

Where can I get this monster?

I think it was mentioned above, but it is available for download on our forum. The link to it is available through Kreeargh's web site and in my sig, all you need to do is register there. Kree is also working on a few more things that might be of interest to you, so maybe if you pester him on the Star Wars model thread he might show you.   You'll also be able to look at all the Trek stuff we've been working on.
