« on: April 27, 2004, 03:28:46 pm »
ok, so i posted int eh general forum. turns out the game i had been working on for the last 2 years now is finally announced. i popped into this forum and saw some people i recognized. thouight maybe u all might liek to see a model i did recently for the new RTS game Empire Earth 2.

heres an image posted at gamespot of one fo the mechs i created.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/04/26/screens_6094540.html?page=6

in this image i created the airport and tents and towers and so on.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/04/26/screens_6094540.html?page=4

the other images on that site are pretty much the same but form diff angles.

i really enjoyed working on this one and if i can find more images from soem of the other senarios ill post them.

yea, i think i enjoyed making the mecs most of all, tho i did soem units in this game that really came out the way i wanted (which is good)

we are still in pre-alpha stage so i got a while to go yet.

whats cool about that emch is the missle pods pop out when tis gonna fight. and when its coverign terrain they go into the body

anyone like mechs?

im almost as big a fan of mechs as i am starships and star wars tech. i own every mechwarrior game that ever came out

I'm a big fan of Mechs and wish I knew how to build them  to port into MechWarrior - sadly I don't.
I always thought if would be great if SFC had a ground assault mission using Mechs etc to secure the final capture of a planet after the orbital base assault.  Maybe my expectations are just too big though.

I'm a bigger starship fan than mech fan, but I do like 'em a lot. I don't play mech games, but do have a small collection of Gundam and Transformers figures. Besides you getting me interested in Earth Empire 2 today, I understand that their are at least two Gundam games making their appearances at E3.

I'd say that Star Trek, Kaiju (read: Godzilla) and mech stuff figure fairly prominently among my hobbies. And Ihave quite a few more. So much neat stuff out there, so little time and money...

Hello Sir and good see the game you have been spending time on is starting to show up. No one in this forum has forgotten you or your work, in fact many of your ships have been converted to all the new releases of Trek Games. I have been a Fan of Mecha and Japanese Anime since the mid 70s' so I am glad to see your work going that way as well. I only played the MechaWarrior stuff in single player and never searched for mods to that game, but I think I will now.

It is always nice to see poeple come back here again after an absense, even if it is not to add work to this game any more but just to see an old friend. So good luck with that game you are working on and let us know when it gets close to release.

Aloha [bleep]! Damn P81... long time u ho. How long has it been since the Articfire campaign where we 1st met? You dropped off sometime around when ROOK started up his OP stuff. I've missed you ever since. Glad to hear you are doing stuff u like and getting paid for it. I'm still hoping to win that ticket... hehe.

Well.. amazingly, your models are still being used... extensively. And I'm quite interested to see your unreleased models. While you are at it... why dont you also include some other pics of the artwork you have done for other projects?

Oh... and let me say that by looking closely at that mech you made, your texture skills have gotten quite good. Nice work.

Dont be such a stranger dude. Visit more often. Its good just to see you drop a line... I mean this community really digs your work.

P81! Damn!

Hey, your forum over at frost works is doing good...a little request...do you know how to get ships into Freelancer? I've asked at FW, Lancersreactor, but no response. Oh well, it's great to see the Master around here again. Your work is always an inspiration to those of us carrying on the tradition for SFC...but your work will never be rivaled.

so now they collect dust on my hard drive.

Well Hello Rick!

Long time since you have been here.  I still lurk through these boards on a semi regular basis.

One note, I picked up Elite Force 2.  LIked EF1, EF2 was really BAD.  They screwed up the weapons and everything so bad on that game it was almost impossible to play.

Gave it away to a friend and his comment was "it sucks", but he couldn't complain about the price.  (graphics were good playability stunk)

Am looking forward to seeing your unreleased compositions.

Skipping reading most of the posts, I'll view my own opinion.

I remember you.  I don't have a lot of respect for you after a series of events years back (which I hope aren't brought up again so I hope nobody starts anything from my post... Besides, I've forgotten some of it.) but that doesen't mean you're not talented.  You pretty much do good work mostly.

well we had about 2000 arguments (which i was involved in) on this forum ranging from model permissions, to verbal unarmed combat to personal attacks. some people will still have hard feelings regarding that, others wont. im not one to hold grudges so to u i say, no hard feelings bud, and have a good one!

Like we'd forget you. Not very likely. Even if we forget your contributions to this scene there are still numerous other scenes (most involving trek) where you name shows up.

Still it would be a plus if you'd could hang around here more.

Just wanted to add a post to the those offering greetings. You know, to this day many of your textures are the gold standard by which others are compared. It seems to me your Federation warp nacelle and dish textures are a good example of that. You helped make this game more fun and most of us are glad you found a place in the industry.

Hope you visit often if for no other reason than to be social.

Welcome back Rick. I can't wait to see what new standard your going to set with your new old ships...:D

Odd too, because I mention you in my Power Point Presentation on SFC2, in the modding community slides (they take up about 5 of the 12 slides ). Do you have a semi complete list of all the things you've had the chance to work on because of your SFC fame?
