I read somewhere that the patch has been on the activision website, can someone clear this up for me?

God, what is everyones problem???? All I read about the patch was that everyone was complaining that it was still in Activistions Q&A and then all of a sudden someone said get the patch???? There was no announcement on this board that said PATCH OUT NOW or whatever, so all I want to know is has the patch been offically realeased??? Has it finally been taken out of Activistions Q&A.

A Beta patch has been released which sorts out some but not all problems.

Mainly I think to shut up some of the whining here.

From what I understand it was released by Taldren with ATVI's permission. ATVI is not offering any support for it as it is a "beta" patch. Apparently the "official" patch is still under development.

Whats the issue with 56k onlione play? I play all the time online and i only got a 56k???

The deal is that the beta patch is, in fact, MORE laggy and LESS stable if ANYONE on your server is using dialup. That, and they're beta-releasing it so as we players can tell them any bugs. Q&A testers don't play online with the 10,000 different types of computers out there, so they won't see everything.

If you don;t have dialup, get the beta patch. Its really, really, really much better than the original. Gotta love those tough AIs, and plasmas that are more likely to hit than to miss. Be advised, the fed single player campaign becomes MUCH harder post-patch because of improved romulans.
