A request to the community...
« on: April 27, 2004, 12:37:09 am »
In re-vamping my site, I'd like to bring back Starfleet Engineering Design Lab, my 1st site. I would like to feature on the site the design sketches, schematics, bashed schematics...etc. that you've all done. I'd like to have these as a resource for those of us who have our own interpretation of things. I don't want stuff from the other sites, I want your stuff. Azel, this aimed dead at ya, bud. Also Ol' Buzzard, you have some great ideas. In this way, I hope to see more of these modeled, so we all can enjoy them in our games. Hope ya'll like the idea, and contribute.

Good to hear you're doing this!!  Just a shame I've no idea what I did wih all my old drawings (they do go back to the 80's so I've probably got shot of them over time)....  I think the only one I have left is the Carn Eige / Santa Lucia, but she's a little too big to scan in.- I'll see what a digital camera will do.

Sure!! Send what you have...I'm just trying to get a new resource going for us. You have posted some great designs MP, so send away. whatever we can get will be great. Like I said, I just want to stay away from the old, tired designs at the other sites...I mean we're fans who play a game with these things, and most of us have some idea of what ships should look like, so let's see what we can going.

Hey, I can draw, kinda, but I like what Ol' Buzzard did with those schematics of Azels...cut and paste. That's what I'm gonna try. Also, if you have a site you go to that's off the ST beaten track, send us some links. That way, we can get all the ideas out in the air, for modelers and fan-fic folk alike. That was a mouthful.

DK, send away, the more the merrier.

I like that so I take it you're adding a spot for Trek stories / fan-fiction too . Outstanding indeed, may I also suggest a spot for skirmishes/campaign missions as well. No telling how big a response you'll get. Wonderfully fresh ideas Sandman sir !

Will it be ok just to keep posting here bud...  I kinda like this idea...  sorry I haven't answered before hand.    But I can do sketches somewhat.  I'm a little out of practice ...  but we're starting to get the hang of it .. ( kinda got away form it like for litterally 30+ years) .. Any of the stuff we are doing sir you are more than welcome to.  Azel seems to understand my style as much as anyone I've ran across.  I guess that is why we hooked up so easily.

If this is cool with everyone else ..  then I will be more than glad to do my part.

Thanks again for the opportunity to finally begin to give something back to the community.  (this makes my week)

Yes it is.

OK, now I'm expecting a troll soon to blast the efforts, but if we ignore them, they will go away.
