Borg Mission Question
« on: February 27, 2003, 10:01:32 am »
I'm playing the second mission where the Borg are assimilating a Federation Listening Post... How do I get the AI's to attack the listening post? They spend their time attacking a planet.... Or is there something else I'm missing?  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks!

Foolish Startrekcaptian.

Patch your game and go take a closer look.

The Borg Campaign is available in the "List All Campaigns" Section of your game.

Whee!

Just donīt worry about the AIs. The listening posr it is not that strong. The only thing you have to do is lower one shield and capture it.
That worked for me.....

AI attacking the planet used to annoy me when playing planet attack missions.
From then on I simply transported 1 super-marine down to the surface - a marine so good he could capture a planet all by himself.

After the planets yours - the enemy AI spend all their time pounding the big lump with everything they've got - for revenge i presume since it can't fire back - leaving you to pluck them off in peace. Actually - is this an area that could be improved upon, or has it been improved upon in the patch? (Perhaps the planet could have 30 marines etc)

I haven?t played the Borg mission yet - so it may have loads of marines defending it. I don?t know.

Yeah, what he said, and you should be golden. Just you wait until you get a Cube. Good god those things are beyond unfair! Hell, I sometimes accidentally take out enemies by running into them. Due to the high armor regen rate, the collision seems to hardly have an effect. How sick is that? Of course I'm not sure if they made the Cube a normal ship with no collision in the beta patch. I'll have to check that out sometime.

Oh, and just for fun, try and setup a single player skirmish with you in a Cube vs. five other Fed Excelsiors. When they shoot at you, you'll laugh at their puny phaser 10s and torpedoes.     Wolf 359 anyone?

Borg Cube is now a normal ship after patching because of AI ramming problems on team mate or player exploit on the Ramming....

A script for Wolf 359 was added for Skirmish mode on both single player and GSA.... It has a "Specialized" Cube to go against.... Bring lot's of friends....

I re ran the mission again and did what someone suggested about doing the one man Rambo on the planet... That did it, and lowered the listening post shield... Man I don't know what they did in the patch, but I actually had damage!  I noticed the AI's are a little smarter... Thanks for the assist people!
