I seen this post on gaming.startrek.com by Dan Hagerty on 2-27-2003

"On the rank bug - the only rank bug there is has to do with the fact that the rank does not advance beyond Lt. Commander. There is no feature that dictates that ship hull type is tied to rank in any way. Is Taldren in any way planning on implementing this feature in the future?

Also

I noticed that regardless of rank in a fleet the biggest ship has command of the fleet, so if a Lieutenant has command of a Galaxy class and you have a full Captin in a Defiant class the Captin takes orders from the Lieutenant!?! Please tell me this will be looked at. =)

This sounds like an interesting concept indeed.:D
