Getting SCF v. 2 sorted
« on: April 23, 2004, 02:31:30 pm »
I recently re-re-re-re installed my SFC2 game on my PC (don't ask) and I'm hunting for a suitable patch and where to get myself into multiplayer games.

Where will I find the patches and just what is the deal about the multiplayer? How do you join, where do you go and fight? Do you take part in an ongoing campaign?

Meh, sorry for the thousand questions, I just wanted to get this game online; what I intended it for!

Oh, and let me intoduce myself - I'm frazzle, from Scotland, aged 17 and a bit of an amatuer Star Trek fan. I'd probably whup your asses at SFC2 anyday though

Ok for SFC 2 Empires at War :

go to announcements section of this forum... look for the v2002-2036 patch (latest and final version)

to play online.. for Dynaverse II, launch game click Multiplayer, Click Dynaverse II

Fill out player info (must have a gamespy Arcade account)

click join, pick a server and read the description (server may require additional download)

join server and have fun.

for Gamespy Arcade : ( 1 vs 1 head up action, non campaign)

Download Gamespy Arcade using this link

http://www.gamespyarcade.com/download/dlwindow.shtml

Then log in with your account.... if you do not have an account, create one for free (this same account is used for Dynaverse 2)

go to Empires at War lobby using the game icon onthe left column.. make or pick a room... and with other people, click Ready at the top and if you are hosting.. click launch.. if others are hosting.. enjoy the ride...

for SFC 2 Orion Pirates...

go to announcements section and find the 2500-2552 patch

the instructions for online play are same for Empires at War above.

hope tht this helps...

P.S. these patches go on a clean install of SFC out of box and are not to be used with any other patches or mods on the game.

Might want to curb that enthusiasm. Don't get me wrong alot of us talk smack and tease each other all the time, But that's a quick way to loose respect here, very quickly. This is a very tight nit community, and we try our best to get along.

unless, your related to Dizzy  , you may want to kinda step back on statements like that.   Not that Dizzy get's a pass either, but he does have some skills.

Trust me It's not because of any D2 or D3 stratigies, or abilities. I save that for F9thRetribution_XC.

Respect my friend

My name has a less glamarous history: it was inspired by the first three letters of my name, a packet of crisps, my predisposition to get electrocuted (and fetish, come to think of it) and my constant playing of games...thus frazzle was born, and the internet has became a more dangerous place.

make sure you get the correct versin of the 2036 patch for your game..

here is a patch listing for EAW 2036 for the different countries.. and this page also has the server kit to where you can run your own server.. and it has the Mission API, so that if you have Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 SP5, you can make your own custom missions (if you know C++)

the link is located here http://www.sfcx.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=1

Learn from the ninja master. I will teach you how to kill players like Mog, Dogmatix, madelf and iantheace (not that he deserves to be amongst these other fine captains) in less than 2 weeks. You will be up to speed on the best tactics, countertactics and dirty tricks needed to 'put your enemy in their place'. The most important lesson will be "Smack Talk 101." , an essential part of the whole equation...

And one more thing... Dont ever listen to Sirgod...
