Ambasador Refit

does anyone know if a model of the AMbasador refit from www.StarTrekAustralia.com has ever been done...it is the ambasador class but with a new style look to it, more modern.  It is a pretty big and impressive looking ship.

Startrek Australia does not like their stuff to be coverted to games or even made into low poly version just read their faq. So id be carfull. Unless of course they have changed their policy conserning the use of their meshes.

One time they even tried to get this site shut down.

I had a thread not too long ago and in it was a list of ships and refits during and after the Dominion War.I totally love this design and would love to have it in game .To this date I haven't seen it.

The only thing I found about that on the site was ask permission first. In fact I see they link to a few of the SFC sites like Cleeves StarYards and such so perhaps they have changed sir.

you would be surpised how many of the other trek and trek game related sites tried to get us shut down. Thats why a few of the moddelers left they got tired of the constant flame wars between the sites, among other reasons which I wount go into.

Why the heck would they do that???  I remember long ago when someone complained about the Fleetdock 13 site using "copyrighted" SFB ships and ADB threw a fit.  Man, were not selling these models, and I know I couldn't sell my models away (they are not good enough).

Do these sites still Bit@h or has it died down a bit?

You would think that they would be happy that the models were being used for something else as well.  Like I know if someone wanted to use a model that I had made for something completly other then what I had intended it for I would be like hey if you really want it , take it fly at it.  You would think that they would be happy that there models were gonna be used by so many ppl that would enjoy them.

DarkScream. I'm not if it'll help but I've sent a request email to the original creator of the model. The worst that they'll say is "no", so just cross your fingers for now.

Well, if you notice, we put a readme stating to ask permission in our models, mainly because if someone uses a model we make in a for profit venture without the permission of Paramount, we can be dragged into a lawsuit. Even Trek style, original designs fall under the Paramount umbrella. Besides, one of the "unspoken" rules here is that the modeler/designer "owns" the ship, so if they say no, then oh well.

Besides, Azel can probably design a better one.....(hint)

Linking pictures directly from other sites leeches bandwith that those site owners pay for.  Star Trek Australia has so many pics up that he's always had problems with leeching.  He's not a jerk.  He just doesn't want everyone else using HIS bandwidth.
