They still got the TOS K-D7 model out?  I heard it was available at Target, but I seem to have missed it!

Hey kalee, you got too keep us posted on this model.  Its neat that some companies are bring back old TMP model kits (just wish someone would do a decent Excelcior too).  But if the Enterprise is in 1/350 scale, wouldn't that be a little big?  I mean, it would be like 4 or 5 feet in lenght right?  Thats a little too big for my taste.  I wish Somebody would remake TMP models in 1/1000 scale.  That would be just right for all TMP ships and you could even do TNG ships too.

Availablity on their kits is kind of hit or miss.  You can buy it online and I just saw my local
Walmart has them as of yesterday.  Hobby Lobby is another place to check (if you have
one local), otherwise think internet.

Since I'm a praise hog, I will repost some pics here to look at:

OK here it is, my first finished build in over 4 years and only my 3rd
finished in the last 17!

She was built using Polar Lights 1701 kit, PNT's Scout/DD conversion kit and
JT Graphics decals.

Before anyone asks, I named and numbered her after the sub
I served on in the Navy (a plunger is a type of fish):

All pictures were taken with a 35mm Minolta.

Comments are welcome.

Thanks,

That is damned fine work, David.

I haven't built a Trek kit in years, time to get my son into making them, he's hitting the right age (7 this year!) that I can get away with buying some 'for the boy' without the wife hitting the roof!

Thanks.

One of the nice things about the 1/1000 Trek kits from Polar Lights is they are snap togethers.  Your
son will be able to build a nice looking model with or without glue.  If decals would be a bit much
for him, they even come with stickers (yes they have decals as well) of all the markings and
windows.

So it's really up to the builder to decide how much they wish to put in to a particular kit.

Thanks,

Dave

I will begin him with snap-togethers, get his feet wet, so to speak.

I can remember the first AMT Enterprise I built, must have been 1970 or 71, LONG time ago, but a great memory. It the orignal mold with the good decals, but the unsteday nacelles.

Long gone now.
