*sigh*  I hate coldsores.  I get them...um...ocassionaly (and DON'T ASK HOW - trust me, you don't want my answer and I WILL give it).

Put the medication on them, try to not bite the lip, rub the lips together frequently, run the tongue over them, etc.  Then, when they're gone, be happy.  If they continue more than a few days, or get numerous (more than 2-5), go see a doctor.  It could be a viral outbreak or oral STD  (if you've recently had intimate oral contact).  Normally, not a big deal, but they can be a pain in the rear and unsightful if they're not on the inside of the mouth.

Im guessing I got mine as a child like it says. I mean maybe I gave my mommy a kissy on the lipsies when I was an ickle baby and she had a cold sore.
Anyway enough baby talk... *news flash* My cold sore is beginning to scab over now so I guess this is as big as its going to get.
*if your queezy in the slightes dont read the next bit*
This morning I woke up and looked at it in the mirror and noticed a bit of cats fur on my lip, so I tried to pull it out but it was stuck, I pulled a bit harder and it turns out a scab had grown over it, I ripped the scab up at the same time...was kind of gross, well at least I dont have cats fur stuck in my face anymore.

Hey guys, I have recently aquired a coldsore on my lip. Needless to say this has annoyed me.
There is an old rumour that coldsores are developed by  french kissing, but I can say I aint done none of that lately *sigh*. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows the cause of them, I mean Im figuring maybe a hormone imbalance, because this has come just at the time I really have the hots for a chick in work  .

Ive had coldsores nearly all my life mind, and when I get them I get them bad, this must be my first in about a year, and it comes at just the wrong time, damn I hate sods law.

Er, anyway, anyone know? If not whats your coldsore story!!

I believe cold sores are a varity of herpes (as is shingles and chicken pox)..these can be triggered by periods of stress.. try     www.animated-teeth.com/cold_sores/t1_cold_sores.htm  for more info
