Release: Ambassador-Based Akula
« on: April 10, 2004, 03:48:07 pm »
Here ya go fellas, hardpoints could use a few tweaks, and im hoping someone better with fonts and textures can change the Registry to one suggested by ModelsPlease in the WIP thread (Sorry MP, im just too crap at textures to get a satisfactory result   )

This is for SFC2, but if anyone wants to convert it to SFC3, upload somewhere, or use in a Mod, i'd be very happy, so no need to ask in advance!

Have fun

PS: Its an anniversary! I've now been using 3DS Max for 2 months hehe

Now, that's just purty. I want to use this in the Lost Era, and I usually Put up pics, do wallpapers for 'em and such, so don't be surprised to see a wallpaper later tonight featuring this baby (full credit to you for the ship). Did you include a readme with the credits in it? If not, I can set you up with a good blank one...actually it's the one on the Modding101 File at Starfleet Universe.

This'll fit real nicely as an escort for my Ent.C...along with another bash, this one from Terradhyne. This'll be a fun one to do.

I think  you'd have been better off using ambassador necks for pylons, they just look too thin.

I tried them, they are too short and stocky, leaves no room for the photorps, plus they end up symmetrical without the swept-back look. Stretching them leaves way too much distortion for my liking, so i figured these were a good compromise for now till im more experienced with Max (only been using it 2 months so far)

Sandman, credits file are in the zip i think, help yourself to her any way you wish, but dont forget to add yerself to the credits as well if you do any conversion to SFC3 etc

What was the registry number?  I might be able to do up a set for you.

actualy, that might not be a problem, having symetrical nacelles would look kinda neat. You could solve the torpedo issue by attaching new orleans torpedo tubes on each side of the pylon. Or, you could face the nacks backwards instead of  foreward so the thing would have a fish look to it. Just a thought. The  ambassador is underused, so if you're bored give it a shot.
