Anyone else try this one yet?  I picked it up on a whim and my opinion is still out.  It looks like it would be a lot of fun in a multi-player game, but the stand-alone is all shoot and little strategy.

The graphics are awesome.

Hey Taldren, BTW there are some pretty hard core gamers on this forum.  I don't know if it would be tacky (being as you are a developer) but I'd wager a category (Such as Hot Topics) dedicated to gaming or player reviews would be a hit.  It might even increase site traffic.

We could even rate them on a scale of 1-5 photons..

Well BFV is at least 4 Photons then - 5 after a patch or two comes out!

This one (like the SFC series) is a jewel in the rough tho - give it some time to win you over, and expect a few more tweaks till it's a full classic!

To me it's like pure crack now that I've tweaked my sound issues, and play only on servers with low ping.

You might even need to beef up your machine with a new vid card or more ram to really experience BFV's full glory, but the FPS gameplay is truly like no other when it all comes together...

Its also a very team oriented game, and this team play is becoming more and more cohesive as the "spaz's" leave it to pursue the next game of the month.

There is one significant balance issue with the American side - the massive M60 is way to powerful and accurate even when running with it - but Dice and EA have done a great job (like Taldren) in listening to their fans and tweaking the balance issues over time.

(In the meantime the NVA will just have to play smarter than ther American counterparts)

Anyways I can't say enough about this game - if you love muoltiplayer FPS go out and buy it now now now....

I picked it up the first week.(Couldn't resist the eye/ear candy.) However my video card is having some problems. I keep getting gray box errors that says my gpu(?) has quit responding and needs to be reset. I'm running it on a Sapphire 9600Pro, and after windows automatically resets the game is frozen. This happens on Dungeon Seige also, less frequently, but the game is stilll playable. So in the end I decided to finish the gold edition of Ghost Recon(which by the way does not cause any gpu errors whatsoever). As far as what is exactly is causing my problem I am unsure. Anyhow between Silent Storm, Ghost Recon and Dungeon Siege LOA I've been pretty tapped out as far as gaming.

It is incredible! The only complaint I've heard is "Hey, this isn't like BF 1942." DUH! Vietnam was different than WW2!

It does need some patching and minor adjusting, but that and SWG are both very addicting! I love it and got all my graphic settings maxed out! Nothing like taking a helicopter in to clear out some folk with the stereo blasting, "Nowhere to run, no place to hide." Very interesting.
