2004 Baseball Season!

I'm surprised nobody's talked about this yet.  All right, here are my predictions:

American League:

West
Oakland Athletics - Best three-man pitching rotation in Zito, Mulder, and Hudson, hands down.

Central
Minnesota Twins - Even though there's plenty of competition in their division from Chicago and Kansas City, the Twinkies seem to keep on winning.

East
Baltimore Orioles - While everyone has been obsessing about the Boston/New York rivalry, the Birds have assembled one of the best teams in the league.

Wild Card
New York Yankees - Their pitching acquisitions will make the difference over Boston, since Pedro is starting to fade.

National League:

West
San Diego Padres - The weakest division.  The Dodgers are pathetic and the Giants have no pitching or steroids for Barry to take any more.  The residents of PETCO Park suck the least.

Central
Chicago Cubs - Even though the Astros got a big boost from Clemens, I predict that the Cubbies will take the division.

East
Philadelphia Philles - Probably one of the best teams in this league.

Wild Card
Houston Astros - If they were in any other division than the central, they would win it easily.

Arg that 400 million dollar monstrosity of a ball park opened today. I wish I could just take the damn thing back for a refund, we have water mains busting because they're 80-100 years old and we can't get them fixed but we sure as hell can spend 400 million on a ballpark.

I hate to tell you this, but that place is hideous.  Why couldn't the city tear down that building in left?
