I'll second that Confused, I remember a yr ago when I mailed a digital cam to Mexico. Never heard a word for a month and a half. Mind you I sent it express, insured, tracking, the works! So I call the Mexican embassy in Austin, no help at all, needless to say I went off on them. I then called long distance to the embassy in El Paso, talked to a nice man but he told me Mexican mail does not fall under his authority and is crappy anyways.
Last resort, I call the American embassy in Mexico City, told the woman my problem, and explained it would not be a big deal but that I was a disabled vet and that cam was one tenth of my check, plus shipping, and when in custody of the U.S. mail is considered the property of the U.S. govt. in some ways IMHO. She agreed and asked for my e-mail and phone number. She called back that afternoon and told me it had sat at Mexico City's airport all this time and it would get sent ASAP to C.C. (Chihuahua City). The Mexicans must have had some fear of something in them, as it was on the next flight to C.C. and arrived at my friend's house the next day.
God bless the Americans that work at our embassies!
