Just want a recipe for fried chicken legs.
« on: April 04, 2004, 10:25:21 pm »
Did a search and got eveything but fried chicken legs. I Got a package of them and I am going to fix a couple tomorrow for supper and I just want a simple recipe for them. Chicken is one food I have a hard time with, they are either too under or too over done. or maybe just tell me how long to cook the things for.

Just take a leg, Dip it into an egg, and then Use some Flour , Salt and pepper for a batter. Follow the advice above as far as cooking.

Chicken? Unless it is grilling chicken breasts or boiling a whole chicken and chunking it up for chicken cacciotore, I'm lost when it comes to frying, I suck at breading chicken and getting it right. Popeyes and KFC and them folks always get it right.

I use this recipe alot. You can use it for a whole chicken or just a couple of pieces. Store the leftover coating. Cook chicken until it starts to shrink from bone.

KFC CHICKEN
3 cups self rising flour
1 tsp. paprika
2 packages Knorrs Beefy Tomato Soup
1 tsp. seasoned salt
2 small packages Good Seasons Italian Dressings
Chicken fryer
1 pound margarine, melted

Combine dry ingredients in plastic bag, shake cut-up, wet chicken pieces. Place on baking tray, baste with margarine. Bake at 350° for 1 hour basting occasionally. Store leftover flour in refrigerator.

Doh! , well my wife always cooks them untill the batter get's crispy, and then Sticks in the Oven for about an hour or so to make sure they cook all the way through.

Of course, I still dislike chicken so I couldn't tell you how they taste.

Well I cooked my Chicken legs  i used a caoting but put some limon pepper and choped garlic in with it tasted pretty good. cooked them for 350 degrees in the toster oven for a hour. Cooking for three like I use to do was fairly simple, cooking for one is harder. Have a habit of still cooking too much. and getting family sizes of everything. But that means I dont go to the store all that much either.

I come from a large family (numerically).

Cook like you used to and freeze the rest. Cuts you cooking chores dramitically. Saves you time and money.
