Hey, I know, let's set up an online petition to send to Paramount asking for the replacement og B&B...hell, there are any number of people here and in other fansites that could fill their jobs, and do it 1000% better. I don't even watch ENT anymore, because every episode they destroy one more thing. As a scifi show, it's ok, but as a Trek show, they've blown it. The mistake that was made, and it should be obvious, is not having a true ST fan running the show. If they did that, we would be fine, but instead the have an egomaniac in charge who thinks his vision is better than Gene's. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to live with it for now...maybe they'll get their act together, but I'm not holding my breath.

I would be for an on-line petition, Bakula actually asked for something like this, to be sent to Les Moonves, who will decide 'Enterprise's fate.

Efforts to save Enterprise are now underway, but Berman has given up:

OMG, this has to be the best quote.

Quote:

Pointing out the continued dominance of the WB's Smallville with genre fans in the same time slot, Berman wrote, "To the fans of Enterprise wondering if the sci-fi drama will be back in 2004-05 my personal guess is no. With America's Next Top Model on board, UPN suddenly has a better foundation to work with."

So, Berman is saying that America's Next Top Model is a better foundation to work with than his very own baby?   Maybe he's trying to soften the blow for the axe coming down on his head?  "Yeah, I was leaving anyway" type of thing.

The bug thing is ok, but I think we need to do one of our own.  One that states our desire for more trek but mandates the release of B&B's hold over the franchise.   Eloquently state the frustration that Trek fans have suffered during their reign, and how much they could support a franchise under the control of someone who actually gave a darn about the universe that was created rather than creating their own vision over top of it.

That quote definately has 'white flag' written all over it, but this is more telling of why Enterprise had problems.

When the DS 9 guy told them they had problems, B&B ignored him!

Who are these guys, BermanBraga? Why the HELL have they had so much power over Trek for so long?

This doesnt even make sense, they dont own it. Do they?

Don't they have a Boss?

Aren't you supposed to get FIRED after YEARS of poor performance???

I don't get it either? What did Gene leave it in his will or some thing?

I believe Gene did pick Rick Berman as his successor.

That's usually the way.  Why they have stuck with B&B until Trek has been almost driven into the ground is beyond me.  When you own something valuable you generally want to take better care of it, don't you?  You don't continually hand it to someone who breaks peices off of it until it there is little left of it, so much so that it barely represents the original object.

You be confusing him with the guy who really is in charge of Trek.  This is just a person who does ratings, for all the major networks.

Rick Berman though...really needs the axe, if they bring in the writing staff of DS9, Enterprise could be turned around in a heartbeat.

There's probably a whole lot of folks that could turn Trek around, but it's obviously not B&B, they've had several chances now, and all we get is the same old drek  (which in many ways is getting worse with age).  It's really unfortunate because I think this is actually one of the better casts of Trek, but they'll go down as the crew that sunk the ship unless something is done pretty fast.

I'm going to have to agree i also think it is shaping up to be a good crew as well. (Even tho they don't have any Klingon's serving.)

Berman has been around Trek since the TNG days, serving in the executive producer role on DS9, and taking over Voyager and Enterprise completely.

Since he was involved with two sucessful projects about Trek, he was expected to keep it up.

As I recall, he used to make excuses about Voyager's rotten ratings, claiming the system was flawed that did ratings, and saying that TNG and DS9 were syndicated, so theyt had a different system.

The truth is, since UPN took over the future of Trek, it has been all downhill.

Where did Berman and Braga come from?

Rick Berman:
The Big Blue Marble childrens show.  Producer.

Brannon Braga:

Braga produced music videos before joining TNG's writing staff in season 4

Chlidrens TV and music videos?  How does that qualify them to produce a major SciFi TV series?

I don't understand it either. By year four, TNG was red hot script wise, before it started to slip again in the fifth year. IMO, years 3-4 were the best 2 years TNG ever had, they included all the Worf discomendation stuff, the epic two-parter vs the Borg and its aftermath, a really cool episode with Enterprise 'C" ect.

By year five, the show seemed to slip into a preachy, annoying mode, while still doing some fantastic stories.

I think it is time for them to go back to thier former jobs and let some else take the helm for awhile. It would be nice to see Ronald Moore back and some else from the TMP era. This would give Trek a really big new look or a shot in the arm with some fresh Ideas and concepts.

Well in balance of terror they said you never saw a Romulan anyway in that war as they refused to alow it and they self destructed to advoid capture too.

And in the enterprise episode where they had the Tholians you never saw them and it was a pretty good one. and you never saw the romulans in the one enterprise show either, and it was a godd one so it can be done.

I thought they showed the Tholians briefly?

The Tholians were shown, but Spock reacts as if he doesn't know them.

Marauth

Why would he have known them, it's not like they had many dealings with the Tholians b4 that ep. unless you go by SFB where the Thols arrived around the 2170s

Im talkning about them in the new Enterprise, where they were fighting over the Time pod. You never saw them and it was a pretty good show.
