Model collection
« on: February 26, 2003, 04:33:00 pm »
Hello folks.
I am certainly not a moddler by any means, I about can't draw a straight line with a ruler. But what I do have to share is a huge collection of models. I pretty much have downloaded most of about anything I could find, at some point I will put up a list somewhere of what I do have in my archive. Some of them are pretty hard to find, such as the B5 ships. Anyways, I am not sure about how to put up a website where these could be available, but feel free to drop me a line (email is daekyn@alaska.net) and ask, if I have it and can figure a way to send it I certainly will.

Thanks to all you great modlers (especially James for the Raven) for doing such fine work.

I do belong to that club, I put a breen cruiser there for someone that was looking for it. I am not sure if I could upload my entire stash there, I was looking at my collection earlier for a ship for someone else, I have a lot more then I thought, well over 500 mb, so I am not sure if yahoo would let me put them all up, plus the upload time (I still have dial up) I may just post them there on an as needed basis.

Well, just finished organizing things. I have roughly 710 MB worth of ship mods in my collection. Ask and I shall search.

Would you happen to have Atra's Siva class Destroyer?

what do you have in the kitbash department? Gorn? As in old apoc gorn? You should take renders of them all so you have small pix of each one.

Renders of them all? okay, and I will get back to you in oh, say, june of 2004. I have lots of kitbashed ones from various artists. I am trying to figure a way to compile a list without having to type them all out. I have a lot of fed, rom and "other" genre ships.

not really, u should be able to render 1 ship in 2 views about every 2-3 minutes. If you have about 180 ships right? and do about 1-2 hrs a day it wont take very long at all. If you have a high speed net, perhaps you could get some help? I'm sure a resource like this is worth some time to someone out there...

But I would start by sorting them by race. Then by author, or puting the author at the begining of the file name. Possibly sorting some by class (there probably a dozen or so galaxy classes for example...and a few dozen cubes...ect)

When I go to that Yahoo group the only actual ship file I can see is the Breen Frigate. Are there no other actual ships there to download, or is this primarily a site for photos of ships?

What I do is use a simply photo editor. I open the model up in model veiwer or m6 editor and hit print screen. Then paste in paint and save in folder by race/era.  Faster than taking screens in game.

Then to view them I use thumnails. Here is an example.

I have several tmp and tos models. Putting them on cd and sending them would be easy. Would really be interested in swapping cd's. I could trade the whole collection with you. Let me know.

yeah I know about that at the yahoo group. I am not sure what the deal is there, I put the breen frigate there because someone wanted it and I couldn't email a file that large. I think I am going to just upload models that people ask me for there.

Well, unfortunately, I won't have time to do that until I finish my thesis this spring.

I never offered to send out any models. I have a 56k it would take me all day to start uploading em all. I build meshes and textures- takes all my free time mostly. I tried to take down the pic but it won't show up in my ftp.

damn. well, if you do one at a time once in a while they can't be that big, if you strip them down to the model and texture only?

Or perhaps look at those and see who's there are, perhaps someone else has them?? COurse, even at 56, a 2000 or so k more will only take about 20 min to msn.
