Topic: SFC3 Not working, Please help. (Read 1290 times)

Hello all,

Im having a problem with SFC3, it keeps booting me to the desktop.
It loads the intro movies and the game options menu screens ok, it even lets me configure the game graphic options. However when ever I try to start actually playing the game, thats when it cuts out and ends up on the desktop. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this ? I have also tried a re-install.

I have the following installed on my system, the bottem two I have just downloaded to try and fix this problem, but they have had no effect.

Windows XP Home (SP2)
ATI Catalyst Ver. 3.9
DirectX 9.0b
Windows XP HotFix (SP2) Q327979 (For game hanging/ stopping fix)
Acitvision Game Update - SFC3 DirectX 9 Fix (To allow SFC3 to be played on DX9 systems)

My System:
* P4 2.8ghz 800fsb
* 512mb 3200
* Radeon 9800XT
* SB Audigy 2ZS

Get rid of sp2 if you can, that is your problem most likely, also get more memory if you can, the more you got the better things run. And I may be wrong But if you allready have 9B you dont need the game update for it.

How do you mean get rid of sp2 ? SP2 (Service Pack 2) is part of windows as it is an update.
My memory amount is more than the recomended amount by the game publishers so it should run.
Has anyone else had this problem ?

Well if your computer came with sp2 then you cant get rid of it. If you had downloaded it, then you could have just uninstalled it.

But I would say get rid of the sp2 hotfix and see what that does, sometimes thoes hot fixes arnt all that great.

Also update your drivers to current levels mains ones being sound and video.

And on the memory deal it does not matter if you surpass what the box says some times that dont mean much, so you should allways look to upgrading you memory if you can as well.

But you should try to install it without the 9b update as I said I dont think you were suppose to get that if you allready had 9b on your system.

Go ask Pestalence he is a beta testa and will be able to help fix you with problem just PM him give him some though and be patient he busy and will get to you.He is also Moderater on these forums so check who is online.I would try helping you but it seems like you have done everything right i have all my sps too and 376mb.and mine works fine.I would try reinstalling it agian say no to DX and when fineshed download the DX9 agian and say no to game spy.I hope this helps.
