You know, I DID think that, I got that one too.... I think it was down to the typefaces used and the insistance on calling every ship class a "B" variant.... Great if SOTSF gets resurected......

Well hey, at least you have another Connie to fly. We can ask Atrahasis if he's willing to make a "Cage" version. Any new version always good IMO.

One of my hopes is to see all the versions of the Connie in-game from "Ships of the Starfleet Volume One". That's a lot of ships. Some are already here like Atrahasis' great renditions, the Tikopai, etc. but there's a lot left...

I do have a "Cage" verion, my USS Constitution, which I should re-release soon.

If you're collecting the SotSF books, here is a complete list.....don't forget they are related to other ref sources as well, especially the Mastecom stuff:

Starfleet Naval Combat Journal (I'm not sure about the exact title ofthis, it's been years....Bernard knows for sure though)

The Federation Reference Series, volumes 1-6

Ships of the Starfleet, Vol 1 (there are 1st and 2nd editions, 2nd edition has explanded diagrams)

Ships of the Starfleet Volume 2--Akyazi Perimeter Action Ship (also 1st and 2nd editions)

Starfleet Prototype

****

From the 1980's, you might be interested in collecting the following:

Starship Silhouhette Recognition Chart (Mastercom)....very helpful, has many ships that wre not featured in any manual.

Various external and internal blueprints for: Constitution, Detroyat, Aurora, Independence (freighter), D-7, Rom BOP, K-7 station, Federation-class DN..........not all by Mastercom, most by independent authors.

Also, Stresspuppy has a GREAT "Constitution II" model ready to go as well as the "Star Empire" DN from that novel. His link is:

http://www.tgu.org.uk/users/spuppy/

His main interest is in Homeworld modding, but has has graced us SFCers with a few models. I'm gonna have to link to his page form my site and bring particular attention to it since people have been asking for the Connie II.

Too bad Mastercom didn't complete their website. Oh well.

It would be cool to see Stress Puppy's FBB in TMP form (Not the KA/STOCK FBB please!) using the stock FCV engines. That is what the FBB should be reimagined to be!

Qapla!

Hey folks!

Well, that's two reference series I'd never heard of:

Starfleet Naval Combat Journal  and The Federation Reference Series, volumes 1-6.

Love to get my grubby paws on 'em someday.

And thank you for releasing your "Cage" Connie!  She's wonderful!

Starfleet Naval Combat Journal I believe is called  Starship Design  Published by Starstation Aurora  in 1984 Author Todd Guenther. articles were as follows

Comment  (letters to the editor)
Mk 20 shipbuilding program   ie Belknap class
Dreadnought update
the new Klingon destroyer  ie K'teremny Class
Starfleets ship building status as of 2280
Starfleet's Battlecruiser  ie Menhaga Class
Recognition Silhoutes  for class 1 starships
Observer  (announcements of goings on in starfleet)
Reunions  (starship crew reunions)

This is what first came to mind when Atrahasis mentioned it.

Cool! Then I actually have the Starfleet Naval Combat Journal and didn't even realize it!

That's a cool book/magazine. I bought mine at a trek convention around 1988.

I actually have all the books you are talking about.

The following books are by Todd Guenther, aka Mastercom:
Ships of the Starfleet, Volume One.
Ships of the Starfleet, Volume Two.

There were no more volumes in this series printed.  In Volume Two he mentions a forthcoming Volume Three, but, alas, it was never printed.  Beware of fan-made books you'll find on the web in pdf format that call themselves Volume Three, Volume Four, etc...they are not authentic.

The following books are by David Schmidt, aka Strategic Command:
Starfleet Dynamics
Starfleet Dynamics, 25th Anniversary Addition
Starfleet Prototype (the so called Volume Three...it was intentionally made to look like Mastercomm's.  Many of the designs in both books are shared, though I do not know if the two authors worked together.  Example: Belknap and Knox Classes.)
A variets of "pamphlet" or magazine style publications, later compiled into Starfleet Dynamics.

Also, be sure to checkout the Jackill three volume set, the Starfleet Reference Manual, Volume 1 through 3.  Good stuff.

Most of these books can be found at eBay, some at Half.com or Amazon.com used books sections, and, I've seen them even at Borders on occasion in the used book area.  Also, try a simple web search, various other Fan Club merchant sites occasionally have them.

Hi Lance
Yep the pdfs by Panda press are Chris Wallace's homage to Todd's work.  I'm just missing Todds size comparison chart special edition published under the Starstation Aurora  name to make up a complete set of blueprints.
Has any one here gotten the Kennedy ship yard blueprints?
I find that the pricing is kind of high when i see them on e-bay. Then were talking about a long time between the eighties and nineties.
I was thinking of getting a couple of the inpayne blue sets because they are full color and look to be work the asking price.

I don't have the Aurora pubs, unfortunately.  Honestly, your best bet would be a google search...click on every link till you find some obscure auction that is selling them.  That's how I found my Jackill Books.
