Deep Space Nine Spike TV
« on: March 30, 2004, 01:10:06 pm »
Can you guys believe that Spike TV is airing the Deep Space Nine series in order from the begining starting April 5, Well its true, the only stupid and ignorant thing about it is that there airing it from 11:00Am to 7:00PM

HELLLLLLLOOOO, I work and attend college, how stupid can these people be, what oooohhh I get it, the people that watch Trek must not work during the week, or attend school, better yet they have no life, thats it, I was really looking forward to seeing it, since the last time I saw the show I was attending Elementary school around the 5th grade, but I guess im going to have to wait until I finish college and get a good job, enough to afford the $$$120 DVD sets, why, why would they do this, 11:00AM, there nutz

Has anyone here heard of a VHS recorder?

One 8hr tape later and Nervana ...

I really think people just like to b**** about stuff just to post ... oh wait, that would be 'Hot & Spicy' ...

Yes there are tapes out there that are 8 hour tapes but that is on its lowest quality setting, which makes the picture quality very crappy. If you use a higher quality setting you will only get about 2-4 hours of time off the tape. Still that makes for a lot of VHS tapes. I still might do it though, but like I said before it is just much more fun to b*tch!

With the exception of the pilot episode it doesn't really get good until the end of the 3rd season.

Yeah but at least you can watch it then.

Of course it's fun to b**** about the foolishness of the networks, especially ones like Spike. Their target audience are those that are either in school or at work durring the middle of the day, i.e. males in the 18 - 35 age group ... so why not put the cool programs on durring that time.

I'd like to see it again, I barely remember the first two years.

They may suck, but I'd still like to see them again, as I recall, they were doing the Maqui stuff early, and then switched to the big wars later.

The first episode was kool, and its true the 1-3 is kinda regular, but its nice, i just watched the episode where sisko is in the alternate timeline, very nice neghvar big as hell, the galors looked like flies lol, but after that they have a good maquis rebel thing which is nice and the dominion wars were great

As I recall, they went overboard with the wars, first is was a Klingon-Cardassian war, then a Federation-Klingon war, finally the Dominion war, it was just too much.

I figured out what ya talking about now,no wonder ur guys r pi$$ed.But I dont think theres enuf time in a week to show all episodes.I'm guessing those guys that manage Spike must be the same ppl that own Activision, thats the only way it would make sense.

EDIT-I'd like to say u guys r wrong

"Catch the Star Trek: DS9 marathon coming to Spike TV on April 5 from Noon to 9 p.m. (ET/PT) all week long! Then beginning on April 12, watch Star Trek: DS9 every weeknight at 7 p.m. (ET/PT)."

Excuse me for butting in here but if you had bothered to read who NX_adam_01's post was directed to you'd see it reffered to Cpt_Castrin who made a comedic post on the last page and Adam was making a joke in return. Your taking offense at his humour which wasn't even directed at you makes you look more of an 'ass' - your word not mine - than Adam. And what's with calling people 'sonny' as if they're small children, no offense but it sounds a little condescending.

You guys think you got it bad - here in the UK DS9 only airs on Sky One I think and usually at absolutely ridiculous times of the night like 4am, talk about killing the ratings... LOL.

P.S. - bet I get flamed for this post

You want to answer a joke, quote the joke, not follow up someone else's post with a remark that says they are a hick.
And it's meant to be condesending, when you insult people for no reason out of the blue, expect the same kind of answer, comprende?

Once again I'm gonna say this, it's not me having a go at you or anything: he didn't follow up your post - his post is clearly labelled (by the boards themselves) as following up Castrin's post, and there was no 'hick'-humour anyway, that's taking the joke a little out of context, besides it was about students being poor.

Yeah, it's understandable to treat people the way they treat you; but in your reply to Adam and your reply to me you seem rather confrontational, as if you want us to 'snap' at you or something. That confrontational attitude I didn't feel was necessary.

Chill dudes, remember what it's all about - bitching about dumbarse TV channels and Paramount. And Activision, and Micro$oft.

It don't make any difference how long you've been a member of the boards, we're all equal, except the mods obviously

My advice to everyone is to just make sure someone's insulting you before you get into an argument, and that they're actually insulting someone and not joking around.

Take it the way you want to take it. Im not here to fight or argue with anyone.  I posted something interesting and someone had something stupid to say, but I dont have to explain anything ; apparently the other people here besides you actually read what was said before jumping to conclusions, and do me the favor and stop trying to cause an arguement, trust me, if I wanted to insult you, you would know it, I would not try to make a joke out of it, I wold tell you up front.

Ass out of myself, please, as you can read the one who actually made an ass out of himself was you, i wasnt even refering to you, and you also took the text to another level, hick, hey if you think thats what it meant than whatever

All Im saying is that sometimes people try to treat me as if im a child, and im not, i respond to people the same way they respond to me, I dont go off making insulting remarks,
My point was that everyone here either goes to school or work, and that spike didnt take that into account, if anyone here needs a lesson in communication that my friend would be you, i see you sparked not only my attention but others as well with your ignorant reply but hey the evidence speaks for itself you have 109 post, and you already started a problem, i have 1212 , and i dont have problems with anyone, you seem to be the only exception

You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. To be brutally honest if you talked like that to allot of people on the street you would be spitting out teeth.

Six years in the US army taught me plenty about that, as well as being born and raised in Brooklyn.

Bottom line is, the guy you are defending made the error, if he owned up to it like a man, there would be no problems.

I was thinking the same thing, but its simple calculations really, Dom Wars started like I think the 6th season, and if this continues from 12 to 8 that means 8 episodes a day, times 5 days because spike is only doing it for 5 days according to tvguide and there website, so thats 40 episodes no where near the 6th season
its horrible but atleast we see something

Guys relax! The marathon is just to get it started with a big promo. The whole thing starts over on April 12th when it begins in it's regular time slot at 7 p.m. They are starting from the begining again so anything you miss this week will be repeated. They will show the whole series until you are sick of it and wish it was never made!

Seven is a good time slot, I have been waiting years for this show to hit reruns.

As for other stuff, it's over and done with, I'm as guilty as anyone for making it go, as my wife often tells me "You are dumb as dirt sometimes."

I believe that Voyager was included in the package that TNN (now SpikeTV) bought. If so, we can expect to see all of those "wonderful"   old episodes of Voyager on a daily basis in a couple of years' time.

Voyager also, that sounds good, can you rephrase your question again, the search, thats a deep space nine episode when i believe nog and quark go to the gamma quadrant, basically its the begining of the Dom War, when the Jem hadar attack and destroy the odyssey

September 26, 1994: The Search, Part 1: To prevent an invasion, Sisko enters the Gamma Quadrant in search of the leaders of the Dominion ? but encounters the ruthless Jem'Hadar instead.

October 3, 1994: The Search, Conclusion: Sisko, Dax and Bashir find Federation negotiations with Dominion increasingly bizarre; Odo bonds with the shapeshifters while Kira remains suspicious.

I could fill this out some, but it would ruin the ending.

The Jem'Hadar

While on a camping trip to the gamma quadrant, Sisko and Quark are captured by the Jem'Hadar, the feared foot soldiers of the Dominion. Jake and Nog find where they are being held and then attempt to return to the station for help. After a warning from The Jem'Hadar not to enter the gamma quadrant, starfleet sends a Galaxy Class starship through the wormhole to confront the Jem'Hadar

Like I said earlier, it doesn't get really good until the end of the third season. This is the episode it gets really good.

NOTE: Since DS9 started mid season they consider that episode the end of the second season by episode numbers. I consider it the third because of normal TV season scheduling.

Actually, it's been running 12:00 to 9:00, nine episodes per day.  The nice thing is, nine episodes fits perfectly onto a VCR tape recording at SLP, cutting the commercials out.

And for Friday, they will be playing until 11:00. So, Friday's lineup should be...

Playing God
-A trill initiate, Argen, a hopeful for 'The Joining' comes to work with Jadzia in order to learn more about being joined. At the same time, the station faces a deadly threat from a new universe which is expanding at an alarming rate.

Profit and Loss
-When Quark is reunited with the love of his life, a Cardassian who is now a fugitive, he is ready to sacrifice everything to win her back.

Blood Oath
-Dax risks her life and her future with Starfleet to fulfill a blood oath made with three aged Klingons.

The Maquis Part I
-Sisko uncovers a Federation terrorist group whose actions could start another war with the Cardassians over the colonies left behind in the de-militarised zone between Federation and Cardassian space.

The Maquis Part II
-Sisko and Gul Dukat join forces in an effort to avert a war between the Cardassians and a group of Federation colonists led by Sisko's old friend.

The Wire
-Bashir fights to save his Cardassian friend Garak, who is slowly being killed by a brain implant to which he is addicted. In order to find out enough about it to help Garak, Bashir has to dig deep into Garak's mysterious past and uncovers some surprising secrets.

Crossover
-A mishap in the wormhole sends Kira and Bashir into an alternate universe where Bajor is a tyrannical power and humans are slaves. Can Kira stop her ruthless double from killing Bashir?

The Collaborator
-Kira must investigate the man she loves (Vedek Bariel) when she learns he may be the Cardassian collaborator responsible for the massacre of forty-three Bajorans.

Tribunal
-O'Brien is arrested by the Cardassians and put on trial for a crime he insists he did not commit. As his colleagues on Deep Space Nine try to find out what he's been charged with, they discover a weapons shipment is missing with all the clues pointing to O'Brien.

The Jem'Hadar
-While on a camping trip to the gamma quadrant, Sisko and Quark are captured by the Jem'Hadar, the feared foot soldiers of the Dominion. Jake and Nog find where they are being held and then attempt to return to the station for help. After a warning from The Jem'Hadar not to enter the gamma quadrant, starfleet sends a Galaxy Class starship through the wormhole to confront the Jem'Hadar.

But this is only 10 episodes.  The following episode after "The Jem'Hadar" is the aformentioed "The Search", which is a two-parter...so they might drop one of the above episodes to get both parts of "The Search" in tomorrow night...then again, Spike is playing DS9 at 4:00 and 5:00 on Saturday...I guess we'll just have to see...

Of course it's fun to b**** about the foolishness of the networks, especially ones like Spike. Their target audience are those that are either in school or at work durring the middle of the day, i.e. males in the 18 - 35 age group ... so why not put the cool programs on durring that time.

LOL.

You want to answer a joke, quote the joke, not follow up someone else's post with a remark that says they are a hick.
And it's meant to be condesending, when you insult people for no reason out of the blue, expect the same kind of answer, comprende?

You want to answer a joke, quote the joke, not follow up someone else's post with a remark that says they are a hick.
And it's meant to be condesending, when you insult people for no reason out of the blue, expect the same kind of answer, comprende?

Once again I'm gonna say this, it's not me having a go at you or anything: he didn't follow up your post - his post is clearly labelled (by the boards themselves) as following up Castrin's post, and there was no 'hick'-humour anyway, that's taking the joke a little out of context, besides it was about students being poor.

Quote:

Why?

Not from me, I simple answer people the way they talk to me dude.

From an impartial view, I thing you are being angry confrontational, and rude all over nothing.
You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. To be brutally honest if you talked like that to allot of people on the street you would be spitting out teeth.

I believe that Voyager was included in the package that TNN (now SpikeTV) bought. If so, we can expect to see all of those "wonderful"   old episodes of Voyager on a daily basis in a couple of years' time.
