You Forgot about photon torpedoes maybe you didn't watch that season yes they do have photon torps on NX01.I agree and said that that ship looks like an inverted look of the Akira starship. This series should be like heading out to sea 2000.00BC or so maybe longer or the first flight over seas all lone very scary when you think about it.When seafares went to sea they stayed within an eye distance to land until better navigational aids came along.

I dont mind watching it, I think its pretty neat, different but kool, remember when DS9 came out, its first season was airing the same time TNG's season 6 was out, maybe theyll make another season for trek, if ENT doesnt go well

Yes It would be nice to see it stay on the air maybe they can make into a mirror universe and go back to the first season and start over agian and stay with those to seek out new like to go where no one(PC) has gone before and make the tech. more similiar no photons or phasers and no transporting people and rework those shuttle pods.I have a friend who is a die hard Trek fan and she is into this show and if I told her that I wanted to see this show die she wouldn't like that but there needs to be some major changes and get W. Shatner and L.Nimoy to replace B&B and let them be in charge of the Trek franchise aswell as Majel Roddenberry.Good riddens B&B.I never like Rick Bermon that much after he decided to kill of my favourite Captian yes it him who killed of Kirk.

Pest,

Get over it.  It is an alternate time line.  That's it.  No biggy.  There is absolutely no relationship between the downfall of trek and Enterprise and it (Enterprise) cannot be blamed for trek's state.  As I have said elsewhere, trek started to suck when it tried to be all things to all people:  A show for men, women, kids, etc.  Enterprise is a show for adults much as TOS was, despite the many children who did watch it like me.

And that whole TOS triad of main characters is not a duplicatable thing nor does it need to be duplicated.  That is only one way to do a show and it is perhaps the most banal, the buddy show or movie.   Things in life are a bit more complicated than some chummy exchange of quips like a good deal of the beloved TOS.  Enterprise is a mature show with a mature and modern sensibility and in that fashion it is certainly better than many trek series of late.  I mean, I have been watching those DS9 reruns and some of those episodes are just so awful and stiff and poorly paced.  Enterprise is much more polished and cinematic in its scale while DS9 can feel  so closed, claustrophobic, and just TV, TV. Enterprise is like a little movie each week and it looks that way.

I would say that Enterprise is more Roddenberry than DS9 and Voyager or even TNG to some extent and it certainly shares more with TOS than any other trek show.  Enterprise tries to deal with complex moral issues on the scale of nations and planets much like a number of Roddenberry's more preachy episodes.

There are a lot of things to recommend Enterprise and it is certainly a show worth watching.

I agree with Lepton on many points here.  I think of Enterprise as a very different timeline (but I wish they wouldn't have used an upside down Akira for the Enterprise, YUK!) where their are some similarities in this timeline as Genes Trek is but also has some differences.  And we already know that this universe is different because the Expanse is not in Genes Trek nor is the Xindi (at least as far as I know).  Enterprise gives us a whole new outlook on trek with this Timeline.

And I do agree with Lepton that we should not try too make Enterprise a carbon copy of TOS trek or the other shows.  Its still art in a way.  If their was another spinoff of the Babylon 5 series, should it be exactly the same thing as the Original series?  But I do agree with others that even though Enterprise could very well be a different timeline. some consitancy should count.  Getting too Kronos in a matter of a day in the first episode of Enterprise is still an eyesore for this new show.  If B&B are still in charge of Trek in the future, they need too realize this even with their unique creation.

Although I sort of lost faith after the first season or 2 of DS9, after watching the reruns on spike, it has totally rekindled my interest.  IIRC, season 6 peaks the series with the dominion war string, though soon after that retard vegas prick starts to get his own episodes.  whoever was behind that was totally pushing their pet interest on an audience that couldnt give a rats turd.  but i digress.  DS9 rocks, secondary acting is second to none (especially garak and gul dukat), storyline is awesome, special effects rock (though voyager may surpass), and the action scenes rule.  im hooked.
