Rare 5 planet alignment TONIGHT! Two week only show.

I do like C.C. for one thing, and that is they do not pollute their city at night with light pollution! Flat roof, nice temps, and something that we may only get to see once in our lifetime. Those of you alive after 30 more years will though.

I wish Austin, Texas would adopt a light pollution ordinance, sometimes I wonder if I'm in L.A. or N.Y.C. when I look at the city at night.

Not a very pretty picture, is it? Just think, that was almost ten years ago. God knows what it looks like now.

Cool sat photo of Italy and surrounding countries.

Bah all the other 4 planets are blocked by the first one.

You know what happens when my view of venus is blocked! Where's my damn explosive space modulator!?

Hey brother, I would rather see Venus than Uranus!

Reminds me of the ole Star Trek joke "What do T.P. and the starship Enterprise have in common? They both circle Uranus picking off Klingons!"

Seriously though Pun, me being further south of you I had a spectacular view. This weekend I might go to the mountains (heck, they are right next door, hehehehehe) and get a really good view of the night sky for once. It has been years since I looked at a perfectly clear sky, as Austin and Central Texas is NOT the place you want to be when you want an undisturbed view of the sky.

One thing I have noticed though, no helicopters, no jetairliners, no military aircraft screaming through the sky. Only the occassional state police chopper flies around here.

Two weeks, I'm sure that you will get a good view. I do not know which planet was by the crescent moon, but darn, it was as bright as the moon itself almost! I'll have to look at that chart and look at Nasa website and see which planet it was from where I'm at. Most likely Venus.

I have a pretty nice telescope, but am rountinly foiled by the marine layer close to the coast.

If you're missing the nice sounds of military aircraft I'll be happy to send you some navy helecopters that love to do touch and go landings in the TJ estuary near my house.
