You won't earn much prestige in this server, because I'll be spending so much time blowing you up! Don't be confused when I send the SOS signal each time we fight. I'm just announcing my fleet ID.

Casca is a member of the GFL so when you insult him you are insulted the whole GFL; especially, the SFC3 GFL Klingons.

Give me one good reason why anyone would bother playing with people that like to trash-talk like your fleet.

Antics like that will get you banned off GFL servers.

My, aren't we high strung!
It might be just my perception but I think the post was made in humor and to get a little vitrol going before the campaign started. It seems you dv2 folk are big on banning, judging from steel claws signature and your post, I assume this is a common feature of the dv2? If this is the way you folks play the game, we'll just wait until the patch for dv3 is official or move our fleet over to another game completely (battlefield 1942 and daoc are popular) and leave you to your humorless insular little world.
Nice to meet you, hope it doesn't happen again....

It can be a common feature of the GFL for abusive players:

www.gfluniverse.net/dynarules/
"Abusive behavior is grounds for removal from the dyna.  For GFL members it may result in punitive action up to, and including, execution and removal from the League roster. Abusive behavior includes personal attacks on other players via text chat, voice, e-mail or FORUM POSTING.  Keep your fights to the battle field.

In addition to personal attacks, foul language can be grounds for banning.  Many players have children who watch or participate in the dyna.  In addition, many players have parents who they do not want seeing foul language on a game ... and thus lose their access to the game."

Our next serious D3 server will be private.

D2 Server will be public but the same rules will apply and I'm the dyna admin.  If you think SOS won't be able to hold off on the gross name-calling and gross derogatory remarks, feel free to take your fleet's playing time elsewhere.

My son, have a few chips on the House. But let there be no talk of banning people for talking 'smack'. We have a duty to reach out and educate the people on the Word. Let us do our talking on the only forum that matters......

Maybe is was in "fun", that is where you add the "/rp on" before the post so we all know when it is role playing.

We all enjoy a little pre campaign race badgering, but it needs to be marked as so. We (SSCF) usually fly fed, but I have great respect for a lot of these guys despite their race. I believe they know that and even on the battlefield we have a deep respect.

Maybe you should gain respect before writing a check that you may not be able to cash. But if the skirt fits, then wear it. LOL!!

Allright kids.....knock it off.....save your energy for battle..

Never assume anything.....

Karnak does not speak for all SFC2 players....or SFC2.net...GFL runs their own server and their rules are different from SFC2.net....

And the three banned were banned from these boards....not SFC2 play or the SFC2.net forums....

So dont get so bent.... and follow through with your fleets challenge to GDA...

You want to see GDA's best?....fine...your funeral

Trash talk is fine....crying about it later is not....

No problem. I found Skor's post to be tounge-in-cheek humorous. You found it different. I found the threats of banning offensive. You didn't. As a friend of Skor's, I am very sure he meant no offense, just a bit of role playing.
It is your server to do with as you wish, I will offer no comment on that. Does the rest of the GFL see Skor's post as offensive as you do? Do you speak for the GFL as a whole? I would hate to get off on a bad foot with another fleet when we are new here. Maybe our sense of humor does not translate well with the hard core dv2 fleets?
I would love some feedback from other members of the GFL. Did we go overboard? Other than Karnak everyone seemed to get the spirit of the post?!?

Pre-war smack talking is for fun.  Don't be so touchy.

Post victory smack talking is unnecessary.   At that point the men (sorry KRooling and Cleo) are separated from the chumps.  So why rub it in?

As frorSFC2.  This is the SOS's first time on it.   I've played SFC3 a lot.   I figure it is built upon SFC2 so SFC2 must be easier.   Should be a cakewalk.

I did try to log onto the SFC2.Net server last night.   Got some weird errors and then it just would not connect.   Whatzzup with that?

The SOS is going Rommie for this one.    They seemed to be outnumbered  2 to 1.   Can't have that.

As for D3 I have played on several servers.   Not any of the elitist password ones.   I like the servers with the most players online.  More peeps = more fun.

Elitist uh.  Well then you missed the Litterbox I campaign on the D3, which had the best pilots of the D3 and D2 flying on it.  PvP was intense there.  Not one alt/f4 during the 2 week campaign.  Passworded servers on the D3 keep the trash out and make for a more enjoyable campaign, where everybody knows the rules and plays with honor and integrity.  Sounds like the SOS whouldnt have lasted a day on this server!

As for the D2, the last major campaign AOTK by the SFC2.net had over 600 players.  Better start training hard.  You wont be looking for targets, they will be looking for you.  And most of these guys and gals have over 2 years experience playing EAW, which has 3 times the learning curve that SFC3 has. This isnt a point and shoot game folks.  SFC3 doesnt hold a candle to SFC2.

Was going to play Rom for DOE.  Might have to rethink this now.

Sweetie, we just don't know you guys very well. And like I said earlier, it may be wise to mark a post as role playing especially when you are knocking other players.

I don't want to get off on the wrong foot either. So, maybe we can try again...

Well said, Crimnick and correct too.

Also Rolling Pin is correct, just to ensure there are no misunderstandings, it is usually good form Peter to show that smack talking is role play. Keeps the flames down.

Hopefully the young SOS lad did not bite off more than he can chew. There are some mighty fine Fed and Gron fleets out there.

Karnak, no need to get fired up. We should be welcoming new fleets here. They will learn in time.

Let's tackle the second matter first. For 7.35, you need to download a shiplist. Check Dark Elf's threads re: the server for a link.

Now, for the first matter. ROFLMAO! Please cloak!

Ok, the original post was so over the top, how could you miss it? It did not need a /rp on. Fu   fudge me you folks are tight assed! The dv3 with all it's 10 year old power mongers and blatant cheaters doesn't look so bad.
Maybe the SOS dosen't belong here. A blatant use of the absurd ( the original post) bypasses your sense of humor and offends you. We are threatened with banning from a server that doesn't even exist yet. We came over here to have some fun, but you appear to be a very insular community that doesn't welcome outsiders. Yes we should adapt to your norms, but humor is a big part of our fleet. I don't know that we fit into your world.
These are just my opinions, not those of the SOS as a whole.

Shew....how do I say this?........your in for a big surprise

See the other thread about my Tactics list....

I'll put it this way.....many people assert that although SFC2 isnt as feature rich as SFC3....it is tacticlly superior...."in mission"...

SFC2.net is running a custom shiplist.....you can find it in the other thread in darkelfs post...its the AOTK shiplist and goes into BOTH your assets/specs and meta assets folders.....you Must save the oringinal shiplist to another location in order to play SFC2 on GSA with peeps who dont have the same shiplist....

I would highly suggest you get the ship list...get your fleet all using the same list....and train on GSA for a few nights.....and get some of your SFC2 vets to teach non SFC2 players what tactics are involved in PvP...

Naturally...everyone needs to be patched up to the latest version...

But you have to understand that there have been some players who have talked like this for real. We just wasn't sure exactly where you guys stood. I appologize for the misunderstanding.

We do welcome new fleets, but open the door and say "hello" not "we can't stand you". LOL!!!

So, in the light of things, "Welcome..... to Fantasy Island!!"

Ok, I think I can explain something... We love to have more people to play with.  As you SOS guys are fond of saying, more peeps = more fun!  Just don't think of us as tight-assed (Dizzy'll get all bent out of shape!!), we're just a little more professional.  Don't worry too much about getting banned.  The three you see in several members' sigs are odd circumstances, that's why they're in there.  If you go see the OT threads, you'll notice that you have nothing to worry about.  It does help to say when you're role-playing though, as some of us are a little challenged when it comes to a sense of humor (sorry Karnak, but I've noticed this in you before... don't take it personal, it's just an observation).  When you make it known that your post is RP, it's almost impossible to get flamed for it.

SOS, we don't know you yet, but come time for battle we'll see how you stand...

Seriously, what does that stand for???
