FASA Rommie S-4 Swiftwing
« on: March 21, 2004, 03:37:21 am »
The last 3 pics show it. Note it has not been mapped yet so the textures are mostly random.  I may do 1 more mesh. Then I will start texturing in earnest.

 S-4 pics at end

 Swiftwing reference site

Polycount is 1600 aproximate  -NOTE-none of the Rommies pictured are finished with texturing.  The Soulwolf and Victory are complete.

I can't say I ever really liked the S-4 design but I will happily download it when it becomes available along with the rest of your Romulans. Are you considering doing a FASA Romulan starbase?

Keep those ships coming, always nice to see more non-Fed ships.

KF regarding the FASA base. I havn't seen a pic of one yet. I'll have to see if that site I been using shows one. Nope I checked. If you have a pic or site please post it. If its within my skill level I'll see what I can do.

Well I like the S-4 though I admit it doesn't fit the rest of the Rom designs. It is meant to enter atmosphere so the streamline shape and wings make sense on it. Though I intend it to be a freighter in my mod. I just uploaded a pic of the P-12. This is a cutter that I am using as a shuttle. What is a cutter anyway?  Once again, as always, just slapped textures on it. It will get the standard Rommie wings going up the struts and some other touches. It only has 312 polies. My lowest poly model ever for those of you who like low poly.

I had forgotten about the S-4. It really is a great design, isn't it? I'm glad you have chosen to work with it, Red.

red, would you be able to take my V-10 (originally V-45, before I noticed the number was WAAAAAY to high for it's design. ) milkshape file, add engines, and then map it? I gave the file to Woflsgen, but he can't import it into 3dsmax, and I can't export.

I'd really appreciate this if you can.

(I've also got an updated pic of the model, will attach soon)

Apologies again for that Mariner, i still cant figure out why it wouldnt export from Milkshape as a .mod file   I hav no probs making a brk file normally, had to be one that proved me wrong lol.

Was nice work too, looking forward to seeing it finished and in-game somewhen.

hmm. If you cant export into mod. Its likely that any work I did wouldn't export either. As far as it not importing into max. Make sure that at least 1 texture is assigned in the milkshape file 1st. I once deleted all the materials in a file and max would not import it. But I have also seen files not load for unknown reasons as well. I am not sure I understand what you need. Do you have 2 files, one with engines and you want them merged? Or do you need them made?  If there TMP style I don't have any made up. I looked for the V-10 at that site I didn't find it. I'll wait for the pic your posting.

Here it is, and I wish to use the V-9 engines Terradhyne made for his V-9. I figure this would be one of the last BoP inspired designs before the base hull form was abandoned in the V-27 and above.

Great work sir, I look forward to adding them all to my Rommie fleet.Oh BTW a  CUTTER
is a small, armed ship.In naval terms it's about a 28 ft. hull length.Just about the right size for a shuttle/runabout

The pic isn't showing. Anyway you don't need me to do this. You don't need the file in mod form to merge them.  Open Terradhyne's ship and delete everything but the engines. Then save as ms3d file. Open your ms3d file and merge Terradhyne's engines into your file. Then resize and position the engines and save. The engines will remain mapped as Terradyne had them. You just need to assign a new material if your using new textures on them.

Thanks man. The info on the P-12 says it was purchased from the Klinks and then given Rommie engines.  Anyway I was getting tired of using retextured Fed shuttles as Romulan ones.
