Released: Fed TMP era CVA Refit for SFC 2 - USS Hagen
« on: March 19, 2004, 02:33:39 am »
Okay, had some time tonight to finish the TMP CVA, most specifically, rebuild those lower pylons so that they looked half decent again.  My previous attempt used parts from the ship, which would've worked, but I needed to totally rebuild that part anyways, so I did that tonight.  Looks a lot better now, and I had a better chance to color match the glow on the pylons with the nacelle color as well tonight.  Also got some other needed tweaks complete tonight such as finishing the saucer (needed marker lights), changing the carrier hull back lights to something more TMPish, a few more illumination tweaks, and general finished-offish type things.

And now that it's done, here's the final release pix..

And to compare with the original picture

Pretty close, and you can probably see now why I had the saucer as low as I did originally now.

And now some ingame shots.. this is in the SFC 2 Demo (where I test a lot of my stuff)..

And finally the download link... this is in the new installer format.

http://www.the-tcs.net/_hosted/atheorhaven/html/userfiles/ships/trek/sfc2/F-TMP-CVA_SFC2.exe

I hope that you guys enjoy the final result.. my inner artist is still grumbling, but is mostly okay with it now..

And btw, for those that don't know.. this ship is named after Anduril (his real last name graces the hull).

Thanks guys..I'm glad that there's a response to this one.  I just need to get the custom one over to Rogue now..

Bernard, when you do set her up, you should find her quite playable.. I used Taldren'c CVS hp/dp's for her, so she should even launch fighters from the correct area of the ship.

She looks great, a nicely rendered piece of work there.  I can't wait until I can take her for a spin around the galaxy.  When is the final release date?

Thanks for doing this ship for all of us. Finally, a Fed TMP heavy carrier that really looks the part. Very nicely done.

Okay, I'm going to check this out...

Everyone else, can you please scan this file with your anti-virus program?  If one person has a trojan, I want to find out exactly where it's located.. and if it's on this .EXE, then I'll be pulling it and redoing it on another machine.

Should be able to scan the file from:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

She's released now.

You can download her from the above link in the initial message in this thread, but please see my previous message.  One person reported a trojan, but I am uncertain if it's a local infection (his machine) or it left my system that way.  I'll check that out when I get home tonight (I'm at work as I type this).  If you download it, please run an anti-virus scan on it and PM me the results.  If you get a trojan report as well, then I'll be pulling the file tonight when I get home and re-doing the file up on another machine.

Sorry, Should have been more specific.

My Virus scanner checks it at the end of the download automatically and auto deletes it. The download never completes because of this. Thus the file never becomes available for me to inspect. I have tried the download twice with same results.
I assure you my comp is 100% virus free.

Sweet Model!

I just scanned the file and it came up clean. I'll do a complete scan of my system next. It might be because of the .exe that your system is rejecting the DL. Possibly?

Atheorhaven... marvelously done. I've been out of town for a week and made a point to check on this when I got home.

I thank you. At long last we have the Federation heavy carrier for those of us who favor this era. I can only hope you have enjoyed crafting this model as much as we will using it, and more so. You made this possible. As tempted as I am to wax eloquent here just accept that I will think of this as one of the most coveted models... ever. Did I say I think you did really good on this already?

So... I will warm that warp core, load the fighters and take her for a spin. I'll be looking for some fitting screen shots to send your way. This does not bode well for Fed adversaries. In the words of Bruce Campbell in Army of Darkness "Come get some."

Apparently my VS identified your exe as a Trojan. I turned off my VS, downloaded and extracted it with no problem and no Virus found after extraction

Thanx for the Tip.

Found out why as well... this is a McAfee ViruScan issue..

http://www.google.com/search?q="Unone+Trojan"&sourceid=opera&num=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

and on the McAfee site:

-- Update Mar 19th, 12:03pm PST --
The 4339 dat files are incorrectly identifying files from Clickteam as the Unone trojan. If you feel that you are receiving an incorrect identification on files from Clickteam please Submit a Sample to AVERT.
--

Am currently running both Symantec's Online Scan plus TrendMicro's Housecall on my wife's machine to be sure, but I am also sure that it doesn't have anything on it as I went through it three days ago as well.  There were some cookies on there, but that was about it.  But to be paranoid, am running the scans again.

Bottom line is: I'm 90% sure that this loader is not infected with a trojan, but the false ID is a Mcafee VirusScan issue.  That being said, just be sure to scan anything that you download, not just this file.

Glad that I could help on this one, and again.. you guys definitely need to thank LC_Amaral and Anduril for this as well.  LC_Amaral's saucer is almost completely unchanged minus a few texture changes, and the nice thing about his ship is that it's different enough from p81's stuff that it'll really look nice and different ingame, even flying with a fleet of Excelsior's.  As well, Anduril's carrier hull really made this ship possible, because without that accurate hull to go along with LC_Amaral's nice saucer, I'd not have been as able to get the ship looking as close as it does to the reference picture.    And I built on both LC_Amaral's and Anduril's textures as well to make all this work.  This was really a joint effort.. I just slapped it all together and named it "Fred".  Oh, and slapped a coat of paint on it.. ummm, did some wiring, and major welding.. but basically they did the rest.

I'm just looking forward to seeing pictures of it ingame launching fighters..

Oh, and I'm going to need an email from you Rogue from an email addy that'll handle large files.. I'm going to send you those custom textures yet..

I think this is a wonderful model, but I do have a nitpick. If you look at the saucers connection to the rest of the hull from
underneath you can see that it is not centered. Other than this the model is excellent.
