Here you have some good tutorials on modelling:

http://hippiesatemysangies.whoadude.com/discovery/

And if you already have the model, here you have a few tutorials about conversions:

http://www.the-tcs.net/_hosted/atheorhaven/html/alec/f10000.htm

And porting to SFC3.:

http://www.strategyplanet.com/sfc/sfc3/faq_models.shtml

And check the Home page http://www.strategyplanet.com/sfc/ for porting procedures to SFC2/OP and other stuff.

Finally, if you want to create your own model I recommend you to start with the tutorials from the program you use. Start with something easy, and eventually you will be able to create your own ships.
Be aware that it takes a LOT of time.

Hope this helps,

Mariano

Guess it really comes down to is what do you have, what game are they in, what games are they going to and How much can you spend.

Important questions that you need to answer, especial the what do you have part (milkshape, Max, Lightwave etc)

I have *most* of the Homeworld ships converted into .X, .3ds, and .mod format. Want to be do (am doing) a proper SFC2 mod for Babylon 5 - Maps, ships, specs, campaigns and so on...

Using the d20 B5 RPG and B5 Wars for reference. If JMS "The Great Maker" approved the material it must be canon.

The ships will come first, of course. Tearing through the Homeworld source for ideas for AI, movement, optimization, and so on...

Will post the first set (EA ships) early next week.

Hey Cyberkada. This project sounds exciting. Any specific plan for the Homeworld ships too?

I posted the EAS Hyperion Heavy Cruiser (Theta Model) today.  More - the Omega Destroyer, the Posiedon Super Carrier, the Nova Dreadnought, and the Warlock Advanced Destroyer tonight.

Download.  Comment on scale and other factors.  The rar contains the Hyperion in .MOD format and .3DS format.  The hardpoints ARE NOT set yet - neither is it illuminated.  That will come later.

The other Homeworld ships - sure, why not...

Hey, you should get together with Atheorhaven, he's been trying to do a full B5 mod for months, but his partner had to drop out for personal reasons. IIRC, he has some ships already to go for SFC.
