Yes, and you could think Bioware would spend two friggin minutes on research to make sure things line up. They did such a piss poor job one would think they *tried* to do badly.

Aribeth dead, at the 8th level of hell, a half-elf, and had a childhood in Neverwinter instead of in a small human village? For Heaven's sake!

None of the NWN expansions were as good as the original. Both left me quite disappointed. Never again will I buy a Bioware expansion without very thorough research.

I thought that the single player game for NWN:HotU was fantastic.   It starts off as a dungeon crawl without much story, but the plot gets more and more interesting as the game progresses.  It even contains a major plot twist at one crucial point (with a cutscene) that caught me completely off guard.

I also liked that they relaxes the camera controls so that I could play with a low over-the-shoulder view the way I would play games like Dark Age of Camelot.

Hey, let me bring up another game: Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.  WC3 is mostly focused on multiplayer, but it does have a good campaign in the expansion.  But the real little gem is the bonus "Orc" campaign that plays more like an RPG than it does an RTS.  (E.g. no building, just quests and unit tactics).  They shipped with only Part I of the campaign but recently patched the game so that Parts II and III are available.  I'm in the middle of Part II and am having a blast.   Gives me something to do while praying feverishly to get into the World of Warcraft beta.

Hack n slash online servers are there in NWN if you want them but the game was designed with complex D+D in mind, the roleplay only server I play on is very strict about hack n slash and kids thinking they can steal off everyone.I go for the 'Hard Core Rules' servers myself, they are very challenging and often frustrating, though it is really great when you and all others MUST roleplay your character.

Try out The Three Towns server Cheese.

HardCore rules, full PVP (except for one noob area, the interior of each town in the Three Towns alliance only accessable by non-Outlaws, and Voidwars Temple).  It's not a RP server, but you can RP if you wish.

The rules are:  no griefing.

PPing is allowed, PKing is allowed and encouraged.

All in all a great server with a great bunch of guys online... one where the "evil" people are evil, but the people behing the "evil" people are usually great people.

But then again, after playing NWN for over a year, I've found out how much of a broken game they built.  I totally understand the "SFB Canon guys vs. the SFC is a unique game" argument.  Canon is balanced, non-Canon is appeasing the munchkins.

in fact I tend to like the roleplay more than the gameplay and The Three Kingdoms server is not for the inexperienced player.

PK is allowed but has to be roleplayed, not 'theres a drow PC kill her' kinda thing.
You can kill someone who thieves off you though ...he he
and get your stuff back.
there are also subraces (with adjusted PC charicteristics)but you need to post permission for all but drow and there is a level cap on goblins, kolbolds and orcs.

there are many noob missions and in the starting halls you can train on a dummy to LvL 2.

This is a server for adults too and can be explicit if you roleplay it that way.

The Three Kingdoms is now a new build with lots of new stuff added, it now has 480 areas, new tradeskill crafting system and stricter roleplay rules.

it is a server for grown ups, if you loved the old P+P D&D you will love this.
you even get a dice bag to roll for roleplay events.

roleplay is basically unheard of or not strictly implemented on these games, this is where NWN shines, it has small enough servers to regulate it.

No Hak's

All in all a great server with a great bunch of guys online... one where the "evil" people are evil, but the people behing the "evil" people are usually great people.

But then again, after playing NWN for over a year, I've found out how much of a broken game they built.  I totally understand the "SFB Canon guys vs. the SFC is a unique game" argument.  Canon is balanced, non-Canon is appeasing the munchkins.

Thanks but I'll give it a miss,I have been playing from the beginning of NWN and only full RP and HCR seems to satisfy me now.

in fact I tend to like the roleplay more than the gameplay and The Three Kingdoms server is not for the inexperienced player.

What are the PK rules on 3K and will I spend the first 3 levels killing rats?

ME <<-->> only like full-pvp servers.

Do any other Euro's play on the Three Kingdoms server here?

Before I moved on to other games I tried the Three Kingdoms once or twice.  Now I've recently gotten a console and moved to the evil empire of gaming...at least for the moment.

BTW

my character is Morann Zxynn drow necromancer

Where's the server located at Cheese?  I was checking around, but haven't seen it online in 2 days.

PS - does it have heartbeat scripts?

I must say I have played alot of MMorpg's but this beats all of them (and its cheaper)
roleplay is basically unheard of or not strictly implemented on these games, this is where NWN shines, it has small enough servers to regulate it.

This is probably the reason I have never uninstalled it from my desktop since it first was released
