Looking for info- ISC Campaign of Pacification as per SFB
« on: March 10, 2004, 09:49:18 pm »
I have the SFB chronology of the General War, but can't find anything for the chronology of the ISC Pacification Campaign.

Can anyone out there help me out?

Many thanks-

In a word - not really. There may be stuff in a Captain's log that I haven't read (I don't have most of them) but as for campaign information, such as you'd get in F&E, it doesn't exist. Or rather, doesn't exist yet. The ISC don't appear in any of the current F&E rulesets. However, ADB has sent out playtest counters for an upcoming expansion (I have a set of those) and it's safe to assume that it's planned for the future.

It's been awhile, but as I recall, it went along the lines of the iSC began to take over systems at the end of the general war, but would not enter a system if even a single ship was in the area.

All the fleets were heavily depleated after 17 years of war, and could not resist properly, the Gorn and Romulans were reduced to their homeworlds quickly. The Federation and Klingons formed a shakey alliance to meet the new threat, but as the ISC spread over the known galaxy, disaster struk them in the form of the Andromidans.

They attacked while the ISC was at maximum extention, and destroyed three quarters of their star fleet in the intial attacks.

The Feds and Klingons rarely fought the iSC, they used the forced peace to rebuild their shattered fleets, and since the ISC ended up taking the brunt oif the Andromedan attacks, the Federation and Klingons had the ships to hunt down the Andromedans.

The final campaign was called operation Unity, and combined the fleets of all the powers to destory the Andromedan main star base, hidden in the lesser magallenic Cloud.

All of that was from the SFB III, so I don't know if it was ever changed.

To shed a little more time to the ISC, in SFC timeframes.  From memory, dates may be a little off...

FIrst Contact 2269, saw Gorn / Romulan battle, of which there were no survivors.

Ambassadors sent to Gorn / Romulus.  ISC thought people barbaric (due to constant fighting)

Learned of rest of galaxy, sent ambassadors to most of them.  Decided that further west they went (closer to Mirak / Lyran lunchhalls...) the galaxy was more and more barbaric...  ISC quickly secures their Romulan and Gorn borders, and begins "agressive" border expansion by claiming unoccupied systems.  A single ship was enough to "occupy" the system and cause the ISC to ignore it.  If the ship ever left the system however, the ISC would "liberate" it.

2286, most races slowing down (wartime economy hurting major powers), power construction program has ISC fleet up to the size of any 3 races added together.  "Pacification effort" begins.  The pacification effort was a plan to occupy all the neutral zones in an effort to prohibit empires from expanding militaristically.  In a short time, they were occupying all neutral zones from their border out to the Lyran / Mirak zone...

2289, Andromedans invade.  Since the ISC fleet was dispersed all over the galaxy, 2/3rds of it was destroyed in the initial attacks, the same attacks that claimed the LDR, and saw a large portion of the galaxy conquered.  The ISC regroups and joins Operation Unity, ending the Andromedan threat in 2302.  Following that operation, with a fleet about the same size as anyone else, the ISC starts to take on a more "militaristic" outlook, beginning to fight and war like the rest of the galaxy...
