question please be easy on me i'm a newbee :)

how do i install mods for SFC 1  i put a ship folder in my  C:\Program Files\14 East\Starfleet Command\Assets\models  and nothing shows up thankyou for the help in advance

You have to edit the sfbspc13.txt file. Change the directory to what your model is and it will show.

You've put the MODEL in the game.  But you haven't told the game how to use the model, or how powerful it is.  Download a program called shipedit to modify that file, then you can make the ship as powerful as you want

There are multiple versions of ShipEdit. Make sure you use the one for SFC1. It's available @ http://www.strategyplanet.com/sfc/editing.shtml
Near the bottom of the page.

ok i downloaded the ShipEdit for SFC 1, and when i put the mod in the models folder and do the ship edit thing the game goes to the skirmish screen, i pick my mod ship then i push play then it crashes down to the desktop what did i do wrong ?  thankyou in advance

sfc1 is verry unstable when you touch the spec file, i know i got that problem after i change the mod, the game crash (in a big bang) very anying, i have put the patch but i dont expect the game to work.

When trying to change the model geometry........When you click on Browse....and find the proper model file.....you must go into that file and click the specific .mod you want to use...

It wont work if you just click the folder.....

You might have a corrupt model  or one not for SFC1...

The best way to see a model is with the viewer just to double check it....

how will i be able to tell if its for sfc 1 or not ?? this is the mod i'm trying to put in there  FAKR.MOD in the folder of makira i think its a sfc1 mod but not for sure

Well...hmmm...

other than making sure what your downloading.....

An SFC1 model doesnt use the illumination files....so a purely SFC1 model wouldnt have illumination textures.....
