I would really like to see more StarFleet Cammand Games come out I said it once and I will say it agian.I would like to see newer versions of EAW and OP compined into one game and with the same features as in No.3.I would really all to encourage you to suggest the same or reply to this post.We need to give Taldren some more great work to do so they can make some cash off us we are gulible (maybe misspelled no spell check). This time Taldren can take there time to make this game and not be rushed like no.3 so it won't have to be patch up just install and play the play game no need to worry about patches.I am not saying that it can not be modified I know you modders like to do this and it can be done
I hope I made this much easier to understand this time.I thought that you were all thinking that it can not be modified and hope it can be rest easy.I don't want this to happen right now I would like to play in general war but I am on shared server 56k I am trying to decide on cable or phone.
Thank to all of you at Taldren and you people on the Forum you are really great!!!

From what I understand, Taldren cannot make new Trek material, as it does not currently hold the Trek license, Activision does, and they are in a leagal dispute with Paramount.

I too would love to see more Trek material, but that isn't likely at this time.

Age,

who ever is feeding you this is obviously mis-informed...

Taldren has completely stopped makig SFC titles (not support)..

SFC 4 Galaxies at War was a plan a very long time ago, however, because of current market, the Activision and Paramount thing, Publishers not being able to get the Liscenses necessary.. SFC 4 is a pipe dream..

Members here on these boards made a very long thread on what they wanted to see in a SFC 4 title IF  and only IF it ever gets made.... but that will be years from now IF Tadren ever decides to attempt SFC ever again.... and so far Taldren has stated they have no intention of doing any SFC titles in the forseeable future..

now.. whoever is informing you of a SFC 4... tell them to share the weed with the rest of us.. 'cause he is smoking some good stuff...

I Know I could count on you considering you are a moderator and has his ear closer to ground on what is goning on at Taldren.I hope they don't give up what they do the best at we my want see how good Black 9 is but for then keep up the General War warm for when I come onboard. It will be soon I would like to discuss about your installer packs in PM.I was going to tell you in here but I would rather PM you on this.I hope it goes on for sometime so you can come out with more installer packs from all those modders who would like to modify OP even more .I would like to put together a great
shiplist with more powerful ships in GW compined with some of Firesouls Early Era ships that look great eg,FCA and FPOL
I would like to provide more powerful ships in middle ,late and advaced era yes they would all be based on Taldrens originals I do not have programmig or skills that Firesoul does although I would like to learn a little bit more with your help.
  Thanks agian
BTW What ever there smoking is probably cheap and no good and may contian other things in it.

Come on people why are you so pesimistic,if this lawsuit is setled i dont see why this wont be a reality, and if they dont whant to make another SFC,well then we the fans must encourage them to.There is an old proverb if you wish for sth so badly it will happen.

Even if the leagal trouble were settled quickly, there is still the problem of getting the license again, Taldren would have to enter into a deal to get it, and that can end up being more expensive and difficult then a small company might be willing to do.

I saw it under news about Activision I found it better when I read it in black and not light green. It was put out by
   J. Carney this where I read it.I don't what he means but he says to quote Here is to Interplay and Taldren working on
SFC4 Galaxies at war this time next year.

Though I'm sure saying something like this is heresy, I've pretty much given up on SFC.  Taldren did very well, don't get me wrong!  I place the blame on morons like Interplay.  I was screwed over when I bought SFC since interplay put it on such a rush it wasn't even finished when it hit store shelves.  I was also screwed with SFC2.  SFC2 was technically "complete" but again, interplay put it on a huge rush so it wound up hitting stores with so many bugs and glitches that it took 1 or two years of patches and upgrades to make the game completely balanced and operational.  Though that was fine with the hard-core fans, I simply wasn't patient enough for that.  Finally, I didn't even bother with SFC3.  One reason was because of my relativly poor experience with the first two games.  The other reason was that it took the original concept behind SFC and revamped it to the point where it isn't even recognizable as such when I, and indeed almost everyone else if they're being honest about it, was expecting a continuation of the ISC/Organian/Andromedan storyline.

Heh, you sure about that.  Remember, it shipped without it's "most exciting new feature" which didn't show it's head for a good 6 or 7 months after the release (and wasn't in too good shape even at that point).

For what it is worth we might as well stand up and express some support. I am willing to spend my CASH on more SFC products. My heart is with OP but I like alot of things about SFC3 as well. I love modding, mostly thanks to the great models peeps have made available. I would like to be able to create new weapon, defensive, movement and power systems (within the bounds of the game of course). That said I'd probably buy almost any SFC product that would hit  the shelf.

Maybe Taldren could twist the SFC3 game engine, add a few bits and get a B5 license? B5C! I should post who would buy a copy of B5C? Just a thought.

I might.  But only if Interplay isn't publishing it.  Let's face it, their impatience and incomeptence killed SFC1 and 2 with pretty much everyone but the hard-core trek and SFB fans.  (Which is still a sizable fanbase granted, but still...)  I already gave my reasons as to why I passed up SFC3.  That being said, I think a "Babylon 5 Command" game would definitely be something I'd try out.  The thought of getting behind the wheel of an EA Warlock-class warship makes me smile.

Of course the developers of such a game would have to take license on the capabilities of all the races.  If the fleets in the game were EXACTLY like the fleets on the show, there would be no point in playing anyone.  Of all the major races of B5-namely the EA, Narn, Centauri, Minbari, Shadows, and Vorlons-only the Shadows and the Vorlons were on fairly equal ground.  The other four were no match for each other whatsoever.  The Narn would be everyone's bi*ch.  The Minbari would be able to kick everyone's ass almost without effort.

The B-5 idea is nice, but it would probaly be limited, that show didn't feature a lot of variety in ship types.

Just remeber also folks that if it is feasable for some one to make a dollar off of an SFC4 game
one way or another it will be produced if you can show enough interest to a developer irregardless
who has title rights and can show them they can benefit from it

How about a Game about Andromada it has a lot of interesting ships in it and traveling the way they could ass well be iteresting .The slip steam drive how would that be they to have missles slip fighters does that sound good to you
maybe Taldren can do something on this untill everthing cools off with StarFleet Cammand all the legal troubles and
licensing .I would have to say if we picked up pen and paper a wrote to Paramount and told them how we felt and would  like Interplay or Activision I prefer the first or that both could make games about Star Trek. What do you think?
 I really prefer Interplay

Chin up guys ya never where the tides of fortune will take you...

Thanks for the kind words in this thread.  IF  there ever is another SFC game to come out of this company it will be because of fans like you.
