Topic: How can I get Allies for the Orion Cartel Please Help

 I would like to know how to get Allies for the Orion Cartel it seems everyone is agianst me even other Orions.How can I change this in the game so not everyone is after me please help much appreciated

My experience is with the dynaverse 2, but I believe the same principle applies.

I forget exactly what the folder path is for single player campaigns, but look for the MetaMap.gf file.  Open it with a simple text editor like notepad.  In it, you will find tension settings for each faction vs. each faction.  If you want someone to be the ally of the OrionOrion cartel, then set the tension of the OrionOrion cartel towards that faction to zero.  Then, go find that factions section and set its tension towards the OrionOrion cartel to zero.  Make sure when you save the file that your text editor does NOT add a txt extension to the file.  (Microsoft products just loooooove to do that.)

Your two factions should now be fast friends in any NEW campaign you start.  I do not believe this will change alliances in an ongoing campaign.  (To change tesnion settings in an ongoing D2 campaing, anyway, you have to crack open the database with a hex editor.  It's not hard, but you have to know what you are doing.)
